If you want to sale your car in the future then stay with black. No body want a 2-tone color. It a Mercedes, not and Honda.

i never said two tone... the paint job is to be done by a professional shop, when i said a new paint job i meant that this is a full paint job. door jams, exterior removing bumpers and all parts to complete the paint job. im not about to do a half a%# job on the paint. i meant a full paint job.

I was talking about then engine bay 2 tone color. Unless you remove the engine too for a complete paint job. You might consider wrapping your baby.

Why don't you go with matte black then it wouldn't look like 2-tone color.

If you keep it black how much need would there really be to paint things like the engine bay, trunk etc...

Just a thought.

+1, and spray under the car, and the jambs, and under the carpet, and the trunk, and behind all the lenses, and under the chrome trim... Mercedes grade paint alone would be a HUGE number. I would think 8k for a proper job. Since it's your bud's shop, maybe 4k. Factor in the fact that your car would be worth 33% less, and it will be a VERY expensive deal.

Sell it and buy another color if you must have new paint.

Quotes I got for my clk in Houston:

Same color - $5K
New color - $8K (includes pulling engine)

Good luck.

I had some road debris damage to my bumper, hood, and side mirrors. Took it to a body shop that the Mercedes dealership in my area uses and it cost $3000 to repaint same silver color for just those areas. It was due to contractors doing work on the roads and not cleaning it up so luckily I didn't have to pay for it.
