Swapping shift knobs

I have an '04 CLK500, and was wondering if upgrading to the newer shift knob with the mercedes star, will be a simple no mods needed install. Just wanna make sure before I go and order one.
Thanks!

just keep in mind that the leather boot will not fit so you have to reuse the existing one.
