It's not a must, but it's a great way to see what you're paying for.

Isn't that more of getting a baseline, and then having a look after the upgrade? No dynotuning is actually done, is it? Just dyno runs, right? Not trying to nitpick, just trying to understand what's being suggested.

The first tune I did I was primarily stock so I didn't dyno. My second go around I would like to get a custom tune with dyno after installing the pulley kit, exhaust, airbox.

I did see a difference, and for the money it's worth it IMO.

I have the powerchip tune and love it. Theres a lot of pluses and its really noticeable in pulling on higher rpms for me. Normally where it would shift in 3rd it gives an extra little pull. That made it all worth it right there.

Yes, before and after dyno runs are just to see the actual gains and to make sure the A/F ratio is in check.

True dynotuning is a whole different story and is the best way to go. In the past I use to use 'out of the box' chips and flashes, 8HP here and 10HP there, nothing worth writing home about. Then I ended upgetting a contract to manage a speedshop/custom fabricator and a few performance stores for years, we brought in a Mustang dyno and did proper tunes, some would take a whole day (or more) but the results were quite impressive. The owner of the speedshop, and very good friend of mine, has made some moster power on that dyno.

I'm really happy that I found a shop here with a true dynotuning setup, I'm going to do baseline and after mod runs then top it off with a custom tune. I suggest it to everyone who has the money for it, it's the most thourough and safest was to go.

My $0.02
