There was a group buy a while back for the speedtuningUSA tune and Serge (badblackbenz550) had his ECU tuned for $300 I believe. He saw the results right away. Here is the link to his post.

I've heard from a few guys about the Speedtuning flash and they seem to like it on a variety of different engines. Just remember though, we don't 'chip' our cars, we flash the ECU...

one more question...anyone know anything above over working our engines with these tunes?

i mean ... are our cars meant to handle this kind of HP?

I know a couple people who have had the speedtuning tune for years with no problems, and they drive hard. It's not going to give you a crazy amount of HP.

Our cars will be able to handle the extra ~10HP you'll gain from a basic 'out of the box' tune/flash. In reality, a good high flowing exhaust like Wes's is going to free up more actual HP than a tune on a stock set up will. Remember, HP is the byproduct of efficiency and these tunes are droping a few 1/10th of a second at most in 1/4 mile times, it's nothing dramatic.

I'm doing my exhaust & air intake before my tune.

Speaking of intakes, I will probably be pulling the trigger on the RENNtech CF airbox after the new year.

I've seen some pictures of them, very nice looking intakes. I'd love to see some flow chart numbers on them vs the stock box and vs the E55K box. I wonder if RENNtech has that info?

Whats the cost of it?

For $800 I'd definately want to see a flow chart. I'm sure it works well but how well on a NA motor? Way too pricey for a cosmetic mod thats hidden under the hood.

I have a 500 not a 550 and I dremeled out the baffles in my airbox, Cut resonators and sec cats, did a Powerchip ECU flash and got a sprintbooster and have been more than happy. All in all stayed relatively inexpensive, less than $500 for the everything.

They look awesome. I don't know the exact price, but RENNtech advertises the ECU tune/CF airbox for the 320 gaining 20HP/20LB-FT @ 3000-4600 RPM. I am thinking about doing both, but I have to wait until Monday to speak to someone at RENNtech.

Here are some Hooleyboy (MBH Motorsports) threads where he picked up 15whp over the stock airbox and 10whp over the E55 airbox on his C55.

Those gains for that price = WORTH IT! Certainly sounds like a very well designed system, 15whp over a stock box is quite impressive, thats more than you'll gain from a out of the box tune! Makes me wish I didn't drop $400 + shipping on the E55K box now. Oh well, live and learn...

Love the custom CF wrapped front cover too, that's not a RENNtech item is it?

The more I read about this airbox, the more I want to get it. The C63 guys have a GB going for it cuz they say it's the only airbox that makes actual numbers. Don't feel so bad about the E55 airbox, I made the same mistake. Looks like I will have an E55 airbox painted 744 up for sale soon.

Not sure about that front cover, but I will definitely be doing some research. I believe that awesome engine pic belongs to Gary (Advans).

I didn't know the 63 airbox, 55 and 500 were all interchangable, good to know. How much is the group buy price? It's just for the box right? Not the tune too correct?

I'm not sure if they are interchangeable. For the 63 GB it's $1996 for 10 people. On RENNtech's site, they list the ECU Tune/CF airbox for $2995 for the 500. Here is the link to the GB and a nice pic. Notice the welded on CF RENNtech strut brace.
