Supposed E55 airboxes are better...?
So Guys,
I recently bought a full E55 intake setup,
Y section, boxes, filters, front cover etc.
But, I feel like my hollow C55 box feels "quicker" I'm still effy with this E55 intake, I feel like the car is not breathing as well now. any clues?
any guys with the E55 boxes felt a difference?

found these two threads:
https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...rbox-dyno.html
https://mbworld.org/forums/engine-pe...na-airbox.html
second thread that he picked up about 15whp with the renntech airbox setup over the stock C55 airboxes (while N/A).
first thread shows, while N/A a difference of about 10whp between the E55 setup and the Renntech setup. So looks like, according to this data, that the E55 intake may be worth about 5whp.

Advans,
Where did you get the CF front cover to match you Renntech box? I need one to match my Renntech box as the star broke off my OE front cover. Being in the NYC area I could easily pick up anything local. Also, how did you get the CLK kevlar air tubes to fit w/ OE components? I had to use two rubber couplings to get mine to fit. Let me know if you can.

Hey Advan what are the details on hollowing out the airbox? I just cleaned my filters today and saw all of the crap in there. What all did you remove just the fins in the boxes or stuff in the center as well?

hey guys, i'm trying to get my hands on a roll of CF, i'm gonna make a mold of my e55 box cover, and (hopefully) make it into CF.
Hollowing out the airbox, after u remove the filter+cover, there are these "fins" that block off the airflow, use a plier and rip them off!
