Plans changed and I didn't head back to Dubai today, I'll be staying in Cairo until Monday evening now. The installer sent me some update pics for the car and I wanted to share some with you guys but they are all so dark even I can't make out any detail

So, when I get back I'll have to go down and get some pics myself. So much for recording this build step by step

Now that I've had it on for a while and use to it, it's funny to look at pictures of the car without it, the back end looked so bare in comparison.

Stopped by and saw the car today, not a whole heck of a lot of difference in the last 2 weeks although the guys said the amp racks and sub box are now done and will be going in over the next few days. All the wires are now laid and the car is sound deadened to hell so the interior goes back in tomorrow.

Also got an email with a tracking number for the last big goodie for the car - it should be in Dubai in the next day or so

I'm probably flying out again on Monday so expect some pics by Saturday when I'm back and at the shop checking in on things. I don't know what I'm more sick of right now - traveling or having my car in a shop for another project...

Got a big box delivered today, it wasn't something in the original build plan because there wasn't a style I liked - now there is so I didn't hesitate to jump all over it;

The vents are going to let a ton of supercharger heat bleed out, so it's functional. I ordered the full carbon fiber one so it's finished on the top and underside, it'll show off well when it's open. I also was going to paint it white but now that I have it and see the quality of the weave and finish, wow. The hood is flawless. We test fit it on the car and I must say, it make the car look very, very aggressive.

I'm going to leave it as is and drive the car for a while to see if I like it, if not, I can always go back and have it sprayed white.

We put it on before I left the shop so I could see it before heading back to Cairo - I didn't take any pics of it though because the car is a filthy ripped apart mess right now. Lots of pics in the next few weeks I hope.

Lol, lots and lots and lots of research and phone calls pal. I started calling manufaturers directly a while back instead of going through retailers, the options opened up from that point on.

You need to start ending your comments with "thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week. Please don't forget to tip your waitresses"

are you going to paint the new hood? It is not possible to know it without air flow testings, but with that kind of air flowing decompression and front vent recirculation it's possible that you are increasing the heat on some parts (really a lot) of the engine and reducing the performance, this last specially if the holes are near to the intake, because what you are doing is reflowing the front ventilation from the front opening to the upper side of the hood and creating a decompression system on that holes by the high pressure exterior flow (depending on the speed) going over the superior part of the front of the car. Have you bought it from a serious company? Just my opinion, but the holes should have been in the opposite position, I mean, taking air from the front to the engine and intake and not positioned extracting it

The vents on the hood are situated in a low pressure area, in doing so, air is naturally drawn or vacuumed out of high pressures zones. The high pressure zone in this regard is the volume under the hood where air entering through the front grill and passing through the rad saturates the engine bay with heat. At moderate to high speeds the heat is pulled out, at low speeds or a standstill the hot air will naturally find the path of least resistance and exit through the vents.

Both of these scenarios result in greater cooling.

As for turning the vents around, if that were done in place you would be attempting to create a ram-air scenario in a low pressure zone, obviously this will not be effective. The vents would need to be moved far forward on the hood to the front area. Doing this would allow for air to be rammed in, but doing so would be counter productive as it would be forced against the heated under hood air and reduce the cooling effect. The only ram-air setup that would be effective is if it was plumbed into the air intake boxes and thus would have no negative effect on cooling.

As for painting the hood, maybe, maybe not. My original plan was to paint it but after seeing, how flawless it is and it on the car, I am going to leave it for now. I can always paint it later if I think the look is too aggressive for my tastes.
