But it's going to bite him in the *** sooner than never because of his slacker methods.
Yeah just pressure him a bit, hopefully he'll get what you are trying to do.

I will send you some pics of the show later today

Went to the shop and saw the guy tonight, hadn't done a damn thing but he assures me he has almost everything done now, just needs to do the finishing details and put it all together... I told him come hell or high water that car better be done by Saturday. I have a whole slew of stuff to still be done paint/cosmetic wise, I want the damn car back!

Kev, you live in the arab world where deadlines doesn't exist hehehehehe...
you want things to be done you should either check up on them every hour or send someone to do it

Oh I know that all too well man, this is my 7th or 8th year here now, I figured that since this guy is a Yank and was working for West Coast he'd be more on the ball... WRONG!

I've had the car for almost 2 years now and in all that time it's been drivable something like 4 months. I'm finally out of patience.

Oh well, good reminder to myself that this is the LAST custom car I'm going to build

Yep, another Saturday and yet another disappointment

I had to leave the shop in a hurry, if I didn't I'd be sentenced 25 to life. I have never dealt with such a piece of ***** in my life before as bad as this clown of an installer, I absolutely went postal today, all he's done over the last week is run one more speaker wire for the new center channel

Can you yank the car and payup for what's been done..... and try another shop?

I know what that is like, and there is a point at which you're better off cutting bait. GL.

After my nuclear melt down at the shop I went home and cooled down for a few hours, he showed up and worked on the car for quite a while. I ended up sending him a very PC email and in turn he replied. Hopefully all is now on the table and things can finish this week. Just so damn frustrating...

Quote: Sorry to hear...
Crap happens to everyone, it just is usually a lot worse when it happens over here dude

Believe me if there was anyone else here capable of doing the job I would have. I am going to remain very positive that this is still going to turn out well and remind myself that this is just the norm here. The audio system, Kleemann system and brake system were all supposed to be 2 week jobs/order times - they all eaisly surpassed 2 months each...

I am going to the shop today, we'll see how he responded to my email reply. I say it the way it is, I'm not in the business of telling people crap just so they can feel good about themselves.

Just makes me appreciate the car even more when it'll all be finished. How's that for some bullsheet positive thinking?

Smart ***.

Got a few drinks in me now, numbed up a bit so I'll go into light details without getting my blood pressure up...

Interior - nope, nothing done, still scattered all over the shop.
Wiring - nope, still not done.
Door speakers - still just the passenger side in (those were done about 7 weeks ago)
Center speaker - nope, not done yet.
Trunk - boxes put in but don't fit so a bunch of shaving and re-glassing to do.
Rear deck - nope, still not cut.

I was told the strut bar and brackets are done and look great, but of course they were no where to be found so that's probably a pile of BS too. He's on his ELEVENTH week now.

I going back to drinking, see you next Saturday...

Sorry mate, I hope it finally gets done as soon as possible. BTW I have a question for you, as you are using 6/4 pot calipers. Have you changed your brake pump? I'm asking because I'm thinking about installing the 6/4 pot AMG calipers from a 63 or 55 restyling AMG, and I don't know how well the stock pump will manage them.

Christianity, Islam, Hindu, Buddhist - anything else I should subscribe to for the time being?

OEM pump is fine, the 500/550 uses the same pump as the '05 55 that uses the 6/4 brakes.

Hmm - with the working time they got down there, you could have taken the car to me for the install - including transport there is a good chance we could have done it by now :-)

Please God let it be perfection!!!

I went to the shop afterwork (I'm not traveling until Tuesday this week) and I almost fainted - the guy actually had a ton of stuff done and was still going strong, at this rate he could be getting carpet on everything by Tuesday (glassing is all done and everythg test fitted bery well) and have the car put back together by Thursday to start the audio tuning... Certainly not going to hold my breath but this is the first truly promising visit I have made to the shop in a very long time.
