True statement. And it happened last night so I haven't had time to yank it out and look at the wiring and stuff buttt...

Still has power going to the unit (all display works), I can still toggle through all the stations, etc...

Basically no sound no matter the function AND it's showing NO CDC which is wrong. So something is telling me my radio isn't communicating properly errrrrr, no clue. May just need a new one, but unsure.

It's the factory radio for an 2005 500. Any ideas? I have played with the thing a few times and installed my sirius without any issues and haven't had any problems with it. So until I toy with it which will probably be about a week or so due to my schedule this week... just trying to get some ideas.

Mine does that too but that only happened when I left the car in the garage for the whole night but when I pull out and drive for like 5 or 10 mins it goes back to normal. The MB radio doesn't like cold weather ..no clue y.

wellll it hasn't been cold down here so that's not it, and it doesn't sleep in a garage so we are also negative on that one. and i've driven it multiple times, started, stopped, powered on and off, no effect. just no volume at all and not properly reading the cd changer.

Same here, it happened once to me last December, it worked when I drove to work, but didn't work after raining for the whole day. But somehow it's a little bit wet in the trunk, I am not sure if that's the reason. Without doing anything, it worked again in the morning after.

well i forgot how much a battery disconnect and reset does for these cars so i'll probably do that later on today and see what happens. looks like i'm not the only person who has had this issue.

This happens to me once in a while too.

When you press CDC does it tell you you do not have one?

If so just go to the back driver side of the trunk. Pull out the fuse which is held by the orange plastic . Put it back in and you will be ok

Yup, mine did it once. the radio suddenly tells me no CDC. I popped the changer (mine is in the glove box). Stick it back in, turn on the radio and everything seems fine. .

Random Radio Cutting Out
2006 E350

My radio randomly stops working (audio only) for 4-5 seconds about every 10-15 min - more frequent when hot outside. In addition, command unit no longer recognizes Nav system. I now remember this all started happening when battery was changed by dealer 3 yeas ago - I am now seeing low battery message after car sits for 4-5 days without starting - I recently took it to dealer they upgraded software and changed aux battery . No resolution to problem but dealer said main battery is very low as well. I did want to pay crazy price for new OEM main battery but tonight I am going to buy a new after market battery and I will keep you posted if this resolves the issue after reset.

No Radio Display in 2003 CLK 500
I experience the same thing on my radio. Went to the fuse panel on the left side of the trunk and pulled the 10 amp fuse with the orange bracket. Radio and CD player worked fine for about two weeks.

Then the 10 amp fuse behind the radio blew. Pulled radio replace fuse and power displays came up, but no sound from radio and no CD changer displayed. Turned on engine and the 10 amp fuse for the radio located under the hood blew...replaced this fuse.

Looked at fuse 26 (25 amps) for sound system and it is okay. Looked at 10 amp fuse attached to amplifier and it is okay.

Turn on radio but no displays on radio...don't know if radio is getting any power.

Any ideas of what is going on....
