OMG going stock!!! Feeler for 19" Rims

Hey guys, this is feeler...

OMG cant believe I am saying this: "I planning to go stock!" I've had diff. lowered + rims cars for a long time but things change I guess.

I purchased a set of ALT rims that look like Brabus IV, but with BIG lips and awesome diamond cut finish. It is F 19x8.5 (32) & R 19x9.5 (35) wrapped in Hankook Ventus V12s. Rims are VIA certified. I have about 6000 miles on both rim and tire. I'm pretty old and my car is only clk350 so no burn outs, etc. on the tires. These were discontinued I was told.

Any issues? Yeah, the driver side F&R are near perfect; but the pass side F&R has a minor bend. My rim guy in OC quoted about 80 bucks each + refinish if necessary. Probably end up about 100 each. This is not the reason for the sale, I still drive on them (no time to repair lately).

Anyhow, I am getting soft so I am planning to go stock rims.

I'm asking 1500.00 with local pickup. Caps not included.

I attached a pic of my car. If you are seriously interested PM me for more pics.

Peace out...still sad (but who knows, maybe I'll change my mind).

Click on "manage attachments" below the posting box. If the pics are hosted somewhere just add image tags to them.

a bent wheel will not get repaired with a "refinish."

and, you're basically selling brabus knockoffs, that need probably more like $500 worth of work to them to be near perfect IF they can even be repaired in the proper manner. and you're not including center caps?

eh.

In Response...

It is comments like those of Mr. Chrislis that results in the waste of time of others like myself to straighten the facts, as he has voiced his opinions based solely on his own misguided speculations and assumptions.

1 – Brabus knockoff? No. My rims are made by ALT, a wheel company in business for 15 years manufacturing all types of wheels. It has split twin spokes and yes looks similar to a Brabus MB IV, but up close it is really different – it has a huge lip in the rear for one. Now, would you call a SSR Super Mesh a knockoff of a Work VS-XX, because they look almost identical? No way. I don’t know how much the Brabus knockoffs in the market or on ebay are similar to the real ones, but my rims cannot pass for a Brabus MB IV, even with a Brabus center cap. I stated that it “looked like” Brabus because I was unable to post the pics. Sure, I’d admit that if I had the money, I would have bought a set of Brabus, because IMHO the MB IV looks great on our CLKs. But at close to $4K? No way. Thus, I went with something that was made by a reputable maker, looked good on my car, had a huge rear lip, and cost half as much.

2 – As to the bent issue. Anyone driving in LA (or similar cities) on low pros (I have 35@F & 30@R) with lowered springs will get a bent lip time to time. Even my friend’s stock CLS on 18s get bent lips. Are the wheels bent? No. I drive on them now with no problems. If it doesn’t sell, I’ll probably repair and keep them. But I’d like to go stock and dump my car eventually. But, I like my stuff super clean and mint. It is more cosmetic for me to repair the bent lip. The pass side F lip is slightly bent. The pass side R lip is even less bent (you can’t even tell unless up close). Is it repairable to perfect condition? Yes. Mr. Chrislis stated that a “bent wheel will not get repaired with a refinish.” Well, if he had read my tread in detail, I stated that a refinish may be needed with the repair (because of the heat mark caused from the repair). Also, even a bent or cracked rim can be repaired, of course case by case. Anyways, the shop I use in OC charges $80 and up on repairing the lip. About $120 for lip repair and refinishing if necessary per wheel. They have warranted their work.

Jeez what a waste of time and effort to write this.

Fellas, if you are interested PM me, if not that’s cool…

Thanks again to Dyno for his courtesy.
