Rear end issue...Need suggestions

Ever since I bought my CLK I have been having issues with the rear of shooting out when I drive over a bump or really anything on the road. I had new tires from the dealer, so that wasn’t a variable. With LA roads being as ****ty as they are, now I'm told I might need new rear shocks. I have also bent all 4 wheels. They are drivable but I need to change them out soon.
Does this sound like a solution or is it more in the suspension?
Also a few years ago H&R had a "cup kit" is there anything like it on the market today? I don’t want the adjustability of a coil-over or the cost. What do you recommend for shocks and springs(might as well while I'm at it)
What do you guy think of replica wheels? Are they safe/reliable???

I drive the racism out of BadDebt. ;)
Check these as they are major contributers to sloppy end.
Front Thrust Bushings (4)
Rear Struts
Alignment
I noticed after I changed out my front thrust bushings my rear end never slid or felt like sliding out anymore... just make sure you get an alignment done after.

Superfly, is there a part number for the Thrust bushings?
Also I have done a few alignments; my steering just doesn’t seem to want to be straight. Do I need to go to a specific shop? I took it to Just Tires...

any alignment should work. there is no such thing as the perfect alignment. i would swap out suspension as well as bushings.
sways shouldnt go bad but you can probably check when your car is lifted.
hmmi think ima replace my front thrust bushings and sway bushings at 100k

Wes, When I bought the dcar I complained to my dealer about the steering and they aligned it twice, about 8-9 months ago I did one with my tire change and then agian about 2 months ago at my friends just tire location.
(I had bent the front rims when I lived in hollywood, this past weekend I found about the rears. No idea ho that happened)

You still taking your car to the dealer? You have a warranty? How long do you plan on keeping the car for?
IMO, take the car to a good Indie shop and get it checked out. If it's finiancially possible I would change the suspension, springs, sways, and get the wheels repaired or switch those out also.
Koni adjustable shock, H&R/Eibach springs, H&R/ BS sways.

Chris are you talking about the rear bearings? Also what can go wrong with the sway bar if it's not visibly cracked?

Item #3
You will need two of each; so a total of 4.

Bearings have nothing to do with the rear end being sloppy. If you dont hear whirrling sounds coming from your wheels when you accelerate or make tight turns...you have nothing to worry about with your bearings.
Quick test to diagnose bad bearings is to jack up your rear end, grab the wheel at 12/6 and give her a wiggle in a rocking motion...if she wiggles, she needs bearing replacements.

You can also try checking all suspension bolts, screws, and nuts.
I was getting a metal click sound from my driver side rearend and took it to the dealer and they said they re torqued the rear end bolts and noise is gone. Suspension even feels a little better.

Wes, I bought the car with 3rd party warranty, 4yrs 50k miles, best diceision ever! So its going to be in my garage for a few more years...
My good friend is a 15 year MBZ master tech, he recently left Keyes MBZ to start out on his own. He said visually there's nothing wrong, a good alignment at the dealer should fix it because they do a true 4 wheel alignment. Most shops align the fron and match it to the rear...
I'm going to go with the bushing and trust to see if that changes anything. Thanks guys for all your help!
