question about CLK 63 front bumper and front lights

Do you know if it's possible to install the fog lights after having installed the bumper? Or will it be neccesary to uninstall the bumper for installing them?

thanks

Installation of the foglights is from the out side front of the bumper. No need to remove the front bumper what so ever when replacing bulbs or the whole foglight housing.

eitherway you need to remove a plastic piece to get to the fog light housing. Turn your wheel /tire outwards and you'll see what needs to be removed.

There are those that just pay to have the mods done but I like and can do all the mods on my car without asking "HOW TO".

The question is "Do you know if it's possible to install the fog lights after having installed the bumper?" .....if you have to remove the bumper to install the foglight.......that engineering should be shot to dead !!!

Ok......here's some pictures of the CLS foglights installation without the bumper remove, car jack up, wheels turn to the side...etc. Just like I said......

True, but this is a forum for sharing knowledge amongst other things. We all have to somewhere.

Personally I'd like to do some mods on my car but I don't got the time or sometimes the knowledge so that's why I participate in this forum. I'd rather pay a mechnic to do it right rather than doing half a** job myself.

Why invent the wheel twice when somebody maybe already has done the mods I'm doing?

I have read few of your old threads klinh (example service A & B)that have helped me and I've learned new things so thanks for sharing!

This isn't aimed to klihn, it's to everybody, stop bickering and share some knowledge instead!

You guys have saved me some money with your knowledge instead of throwing it to the dealership.

Your welcome... On the side note for post-2006 Clk500, If you remove your foglight housing for the very 1st time, you need to remove the botton bumper lower cover ( the cover opening is designed for bulbs replacement) to access to the 4 screws that hold the foglight housing. The screws is screwed in from the back of the foglight housing to the front. Mercedes did it this way to prevent thief. When I re-installed my foglight housing, I screw the bolts from the front to the back, this way, next time I need to remove my foglight housing or change the bulb, I don't ever need to even remove the bottom lower cover. All I need is just remove the black plastic foglight cover and access to everything.

If we are going to be technical about everything, that is NOT what you said. You didn't mention jacking the car up or turning the wheels on your initial post.

Because you don't have too and you don't need to. The CLS pic, the car is not jack up or turn the wheel to the side, right?

Man........after all that, the least you can do is say "thanks". Way to motivate people helping one another. I saw you post today on the other thread.
