Do i need new shocks?

It's been some time since i switched from my KW V2's to H&R Springs W/OEM Shocks. The main reason i switched was because i felt the V2's were to harsh of a ride for me personally. When i first switched to the springs/shocks, the car rode pretty good. It is and was a big difference IMO from the V2's. But lately (mainly after being in my buddies 335 for a long trip) i find my suspension getting harsher. I have 5k with the current set-up and about 50k with OEM springs + OEM shocks. Do you guys think it's time for me to get new shocks?

If so, i can pick up brand new OEM shocks for $100. Should i go with the OEM shocks or opt for aftermarket shocks? I NEVER EVER EVER track my car. I did like how my car was solid to the ground with the KW V2's but i'd much rather have something more comfortable. The only reason i got the H&R Springs and Coilovers was b/c of the stance it gave to my car. So, should i opt for aftermarket or just pick up a new OEM shock? What shock do you guys think is the most appropriate for my needs?

Thanks in advance for the help guys.

Are you doing the front struts also? I have put about 25K on my OEM shocks and H&R springs and it still seems to ride fine. 50K might be a different story. If it's just the rears you are planning on doing, I think OEM would be fine and cheaper to do.

It were too harsh for me too. I got rid of mine only after 2 week. I can't stand the boucing when I switched to Eibach spring and OEM struts/shocks either even thought my OEM struts/shock only got about 10K miles on them. I were so happy with the ride when I switched out OEM struts/shocks to Bilstein "sport" struts/shocks. Don't waste your money on the OEM because I think your H&R spring destroy your OEM struts/shocks due to bottoming out. You got to remember, we got an V8 not V6. The V6 might get away with OEM struts/shocks.

Klinh does have a point. When you say you could get OEM shocks for $100, is that for one or all four? Maybe go with the Koni adjustable, I have heard good things.

$100 for all 4. I heard great things about Koni adjustables, but i would never adjust them as i jsut want something comfy-so i dunno if it's worth the extra $. How are the Koni non adjustables? So far i'm gettin quotes for $400 for all 4 shocks (Bilstien that is).

How can all 4 be only 100.00? Struts can run 200-300.00 each and rear shock 100-200.00 each.

http://www.allshocks.com/bilstein/ht...ear=%272007%27

Those prices are per corner.

I want your deal

If it's 4 for $100, I would jump on that. Maybe even get 2 sets. Lol

Ask Dyno to verify if the OEM strut/shock are the same on the post-2006 Clk500 and clk550. If they're the same then just order the aftermarket strut/shock from the Clk500.

the adjustables are awesome. the only time i tweaked with the setting is to find a good comfort setting for myself. i ran them full soft, then full stiff, then middle, now im 3/4 of the way full. love them for its purpose.

and i change them right before i take my parents for a spin, so its more tolerant for their behinds.
