CLK Middle Seat???
Hey guys one thing that has always bugged me about my car is that there is no middle seat in the back. Does anyone know what is under that space? Do you think a seat can be built over it?

u sure its a woofer? all the base in mine is right below the back glass, near the top of the rear seats.

It's a crappy design, I hate that empty space in the rear seat too. Just like the location of the window switches, it sucks! Exterior design is awesome and beautiful, interior of the CLK is horrible, cheap GPS system, Harmon Kardon sound system sucks too.

I was thinking about this 3-4 days ago. Wondering if a seat could be built in like in the 1st gen CLS. On the other hand I wouldnt really want a third person in the back since the car is already very low and I am no cab driver!!

I would love to switch to the convertible rear bench seat. I want to use it as a port for my base out of the trunk. what are your thoughts here?

Eh... just once in a while that fifth seat would have been handy. Can anyone confirm that the middle has a woofer tho?

The woofer is mounted under the rear deck up by the rear window, the cab has the woofer port running down and exiting between the seats.

Having a third seat in the back of the CLK would be like my wife's C class but worse, no room for the 3rd passenger and no back doors. I'm a-okay with it being a 4 seater personally.

if i need to get one extra person in the car, i sometimes shove the pouch with the owners manual in the middle part since it sits flush and then i can use it as a seat

My wife excuse to her friends.........she does not know how to remove the windscreen. It is working from day one we got the car.
