I found a very clean and well maintained 2003 clk500 with the amg package. It is $12,000 and it has 75,000 miles on it. Do you guys think this is a good price?

I think that's a great price. I paid almost $40K for mine which is a CPO 2009 CLK550, excellent condition, silver with 18K miles, with almost everything except xenons.
You basically get the same car as mine, but older and different engine and other comestic parts. Exterior almost looks the same to me.

That's a good price. Note that all CLK500's have the "AMG" Package, which means wheels and exhaust pipes. The 5.0L V8 is a great engine. I'd definitely check Carfax or Autocheck to see about any wrecks, buybacks, etc. Also, and this may not matter to you in this price range, but there was a major overhaul in model year 2005 that changes the center stack to a more modern look and also replaced the D2B fiver optic system with MOST, which is a bit more "open" in terms of things like Bluetooth and iPod interfaces.

Sounds like a good deal, you'll know more after an inspection and carfax. When I bought mine I noticed that there was a noticeable jump between prices of an '04 and '05 because of the updated interior and 7sp trans - I was also told the '05 got the updated ESP as well (same as the C/CLK 55's).

Sounds like a pretty good price if it is a convertible. Get the Carfax and see if it was registered in a flooded area since it was new. For example was it registered in LA in 2005 when Katrina came through? If so I'd stay away from it.

Use an independent inspector - don't take it to a dealership or mechanic who might tell you all is fine assuming that you'll be brining it back to them for service.

If it has a clean carfax I think its a GREAT deal. I have located a salvage rebuilt clk 500 2004. The list price was 10k and I haggled him down to $8k. It is in very good working order (with the exception of minor front-end cosmetic damage (lower front bumper paint peeling from hitting curbs) and its fair share of scratches and a few dents). But other than that it has 64k and runs very well. This is a VERY good price for CLK, even if its a salvage. So if you can find a great conditioned 2003 with a clean carfax and title asking $12k, I would say JUMP on it... Heck, you might even be able to haggle him down a bit!
