Paint Brake Caliper
Hi Guys,
I found this company in the Los Angeles area that can custom paint your brake calipers for a great price around $125-$150 ea. caliper depending on custom work. I've spoke to the company about their process of painting the caliper. They do bake it and clear coat it to give that shine. I like what I saw some of the pictures on their Ebay Website. We'll have mine paint by them if i pick up my slk55 this Wednesday. Here's their Ebay listing....

Lol........that's exactly what I said too when I first saw the listing. So I called them up and asked what exactly are you selling for $9K !!! They said that they just used Ebay listing for advertise their work which is custom paint calipers. If you read the whole listing, it just about custom painted calipers for $125-$150 ea. As for the $9K "Buy I t Now", so NO one would bid on it.

You get what you're pay for. they clean it, sand blast the old paint, prime, 3 coat of paint, decals, clear coat and then bake it. That's how it should be done professionally. It only cost me $45 (Ebay paint) when I hand (with brush) painted my Clk500 Cabrio calipers. I'm NOT going the cheap route this time around with the real AMG calipers. It mine weekend car, so every mods I put on will be done right.

Hey Kev,
I admired your painted custom headlights, I want to the same with the slk55 headlight but leave a bit of the chrome inside. I'm having a hard time find a shop that has done the mods before. It something I can do but I preffer let the proffessional done every mods on the Slk.

I had mine done the same as your altered pic with the projector housing left chrome, I only painted half of the highbeam projector though so it's still functional. My sig pic doesn't really show it very well. There is a pretty good pic in my goodies thread somewhere though. I think that will look great on the facelifted SLK, contrasts well with the silver body and black accent on the front.
I've taken apart lots of headlights and tail lights from my past chevy's and it's quite easy, I wanted these done by a pro shop though in case something went wrong - they would replace them.

There's a guy on SLKWorld "jameslk350" selling his blacked out headlights for $400. I was going to buy them but... I don't have the car anymore lol.
It's a steal for that price since they are OEM but aftermarket HIDs.

Yeah I saw it but it not OEM HID and I would have to turn off my HID feature to use that headlights. And if I turn off the feature, I might as well buy the better looking painted one with DRL LED on Ebay for the same price.

thats quite a bit of work they are doing. and since they are doing it that way, i can agree for the price.
however, just saying that some members on here have hand painted them and they came out looking fine.
although, if i had the extra cash flow to spend on my weekend warrior then yeah, its def worth it.
