You can download the owner's manual here:

MBUSA Owner's Manuals

Make sure you scroll down the the correct year and then click to open that folder. Your car has a service reminder. You can scroll through the instrument cluster multi-function display and it will give you the miles to go for the next service. It usually goes about 13K miles between service intervals. Not knowing the history, I'd probably go ahead and change it now.

Yes and you can also check oil level via eletronic.

better be safe than sorry. protect your investment with preventative maintenance before it goes sour. unless you wont know that certain parts may not work.

lol

all in all. just do it! and enjoy the car with fresh blood ^.^

The car will remind you when service is due as Rodney says. If it has no dipstick (it should not have) it will tell you if oil is too low or too high.

You can check litres/quarts to full in dyno mode.

You can check oil level OK in the standard menues.

If you don't know the history then service it.

Since you do not have the service reocrd, you should consider the following:
1. Spark plugs change
2. ATF flush (pan flush)
3. Oil change
4. Air filter change (visual inspection first)
5. Pollen filter change (visual inspection first)
5. Fuel filter change
6. Brake fluid change

I, for one, always use MB parts.

Never heard of Mann oil filter but I do hear good things about the Mann air filter from MB forums.

Mann is an excellent choice. They are one of the OEM suppliers to MBZ.

Answered your PM

Mann+Hummel manufacture the blown polyester "fleece" filter required by Benz for long drain. It was a joint development

Bosch, K&N, Benz Genuine are all Mann fleece filters rebranded. Only use the "fleece" filter!

Don't worry about the sealant colour - some of it is exposure & some is variation. Mann have been messing with environmentally friendly glues.

I just had the Mann filter (HU718/5x) delivered and it looks just like a paper filter. There is nothing on the box or filter itself that says "fleece".

Why is it called a "fleece" filter? I was expecting it to be all soft and, well, fleecy based on the description

If it looks like the one in the photos above, it is "fleece" - synthetic fleece. They stopped using real fleece years ago. The synthetic is reported to be as good if not better than organic fleece. Regardless, it isn't paper like in traditional "Fram" filters.

The "fleece" filter is blown polyester.

Yep, it looks just like the one in the photos above. I guess I was expecting something on the box to say "fleece". Had I just picked up the box in the store, I would never have known.

Anyway, on to the actual oil change then.
