Looking to do brake upgrade
Hey guys, just thinking of an inexpensive braking system upgrade. I was thinking of putting on AMG calipers on. Does anyone know which AMG calipers will directly bolt on to our cars? (05 CLK320 Cab). I have heard that the C55 and C32 and SLK55 calipers will direct bolt on without any other modifications? Does anyone know more about this? What about CLK55 calipers?

lol to answer your question,
yes you can. i believe as long as you stay in the w203 and w209 cars, most parts are interchangeable.
i did the c32 brake conversion myself.
4/2 is all you need for the 320. anymore would be overkill but bigger is always better when you have the cash for it

Omg that is sexy man. I located the 05 clk55 brakes on parts.com and they are 600 a piece. Not too bad. But I also found some 03 clk55 calipers for 400 both. Do we have to use different rotors as well? Did you use different rotors, Jimmy?

The 03 clk55 rotors are the same as the 500 - 345mm, except they are cross drilled. The calipers are also the exact same but with an AMG logo and painted.
Zeek - to answer your question, you can probably upgrade your calipers without upgrading your rotors if you have the 345mm rotors. I ran the 05 clk55 calipers you see in the pic with pre 05 clk55 rotors for awhile. But you won't see much performance impvement and the brakes will wear prematurely and oddly. But it's doable. But I was much happier when I finally got the 05 clk55 rotors installed.

My stock 500 rotors are 13.6" = 345mm. The 05 clk55 rotors are probably 160mm.

Also rember to keep the braking balance front to rear as per Benz spec that their engineers worked so hard on.
Overbraking the front without doing the rear is dangerous.

Try telling that to what ever his name is with a 32 engine sc swap on his Clk. He put a 4 pot calipers on the front and rear.

Here we go again... That being said, Wes has dropped completely off the grid; no forum, email or text message replies in months.
