I have $2500 for mods. Suggestions?

Hey guys, I have $2500 to spend on mods. I would like to hear opinions and suggestions. I definitely want to do some performance mods but also considering a few appearance mods (see below).

Existing mods:
Removed resonator and installed Magnaflow.

Considering:
ECU tune
K&N (?) filters
Removing front cats
Dual exhaust with tips
Sprint booster
AMS (?) pulley
Lowering
Carbon Fiber front lip
CF rear diffuser (then I can finish dual exhaust)

Thanks for the input. I figured you guys would know since I've seen some nice rides posted on here.

Kyle.

NO LONGER ACTIVE
If you aren't worried about emissions issues, install Kleeman headers and a Kleeman ECU tune. This deletes the cats (the real ones, not the rear cats that are really just resonators) but you'll be in the 420-450hp range.

With 2500 to spend I think I would do a set of springs, sprint booster, and set the rest aside for a wheel fund.
IMO mods like lip spoilers or any agressive body mods should not be done before your wheels... It juts accentuates how small stock wheels will look.
But by doing the drop now, you can let the springs settle in nicely then when you add wheels you will love the new look!

I'd start with a tune, from bad blacks results it seems like it really wakes up the 550 motor. I would go with a dyno tune from Jerry at eurocharged

i really wanted to buy this rear add-on spoiler for my car:

http://www.vorsteiner.com/mercedes/c...ar-spoiler.php

but its so expensive! its $1300 on sale lol.

but anyway, if I was you, I'd try going for quad AMG exhaust pipes, they roar!
theres videos on youtube if you wanted to see what it would sound like.

also i wanted to ask you how much i costed to get your resonators removed, and does it sound nice? :P

i would lower the car and save the rest for rims.
whether youd like to spend on springs/shocks (roughly 1.2k) or coils (1.7k ish) is up to you.
but lowering the car makes your car more aggressive almost instantly. maybe spend the rest on your exhaust set up if you want to get heard or rims if you are into that, some ppl like their stock set up depending on what shoes you came with the car.

I've been looking into the headers. Wow, didn't know they were that pricey. Are there any other brands with similar HP gains? Kleeman claims up to 10% HP gain. So 38hp added? If so, not bad.

Love the sound but I want it louder!

Local exhaust shop removed the big resonator and the 2 small ones. Added the dual in dual out Magnaflow for $400 out the door.

I 100% recommend getting the Eurocharged tune or any other tune for that matter. Your car will really feel a lot faster and it eliminates the stupid speed governor. I would also lower the car and then save the rest for rims and tires, unless you like the stock rims like I do.

Id say coils, wheels, and tune. The Vorstenier wings are crazy sexy but also is more then half your mod budget. I would save that till later on when you are looking to spend more on mods.

You could do a lot of the above with $2500...just budget it all out by looking at the pricing but new wheels and tires will take the entire $2500...and then try to save some extra for springs and you're good for a little while...

do you dd? is this a weekend track warrior?

if this is purely for the streets i'd go with quads + vis diff; cf lip; springs, shocks, and sways (power, at least for me, seems more than sufficient in the 550s for street use, but it lacks in handling); and, if you have any money left, a nice spoiler. the black widow spoiler is beautiful but very costly.
