The vin reads as follows...
WDBWK54F77F161080
I think the "F" was in the wrong place.
Thanks so much!
Travis
And no worries about the time, it takes me literally just a few seconds to cut and paste a VIN into EPC to get the engine serial number.

Can someone tell me in the engine is within the range of the bad balance shaft? It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Pete

wanted to know if I will be affected by the balance shift issue . thanks

Can you check this VIN for me: WDBUF87X39B383000
WDBUF87JI6X195327.
I am looking at a 06 CLK350 with only 89,000 miles.

Am I living dangerously here? I didn't even know about this balance shaft failure until I started looking round for the CLK.
Your help gratefully appreciated.
Thanks.
Stephen
