Finally got '04 CLK500

Dear All,

Just wanted to express how beautiful this car is - '04 CLK500 Obsidian Black/Charcoal/Berry Red. Has all the options but Distronic and Phone. I don't understand why MB doesn't offer GSM phones here in USA, and I can't justify spending $1,800 on outdated CDMA Motorola

Really regret, that didn't get an automatic trunk closure mechanism - it wasn't even an option at the time (March '03).
Does anybody know, if it could be added at the dealer?

Also, for some reason MB forgot about illuminated door sills, that I ordered. I don't worry about this one, it could be added at any time.

I would like to share some pictures of the interior, never seen this color combination on this forum before.

Interior

We are about to order the CLK 500 cab. Wife wants the red interior. How accurate are the pictures you have posted. Are they exactly similar to real life, or are they darker/lighter?

How do you the patterned aluminum trim?

I was already to go with that interior too until I found out that one has to get the aluminum trim in order to get the charcoal/red interior. Has anyone heard whether wood can be substituted even though the catalogue does not provide for it?

The interior is actually 'less' red. The pictures were taken in a sunny day, maybe that's why.

I would say it's much prettier in person, than on the pictures. In real life it looks softer. However, it's a question of taste.

As far as patterned aluminium, it's the only other choice you have. I don't think, that you can get 'regular' AMG aluminium trim on non-AMG car. Of course you can do it later

That red interior looks way too bright....I really have to post a pic of my merlot interior. The merlot is more subtle...I don't think it being a sunny day made that much difference....??

lol...that's my 203 C32... glad you think it's the 208...I love the torque on that thing. drove my friend's 01 CLK55 once...and whoa, it was fun.

I think the merlot is available for the AMGs only. I can't find a picture of it on the CLK55 yet. There's a thread on the blk/blue interior in the CLK55 forum tho.

I'll post when I find some picture of the merlot CLK55 interior

Mine is going to get new shoes soon (18" AMG styling IV Multipiece). So, if you park next to mine you won't have a problem finding yours.

It's nice to know, that somebody else has similar taste.

My second color choice was Brilliant Silver/Charcoal/Dark Blue, but I prefer W209 in black.

I am guessing since that was 2003 it was $50,000 and was done in Germany.
