just a few little goodies.. :)

Ok so to whoever designed the mbworld logo.. hope you don't mind but I got it made up as a sticker because its a nice design and couldn't resist not having it on my car.. Also had some fun with some vinyl and wrapped my grill in a carbon fibre/matt black look. I wanted to give the rear of the car an update so i finally gave in to the new LED tail lights and tinted them cherry red because they were simply irresistible and really do change the look back there.. along with the quad exhaust (piggy back from a remus muffler using original amg tips) which was recently done. After a 5 month wait finally my bilstein B8 kit arrived so looking forward to fitting it and will be sharing the thoughts once they're in which will be paired up with my H&R springs

Some members have asked about the dual projector headlights so here a few photos.. Excellent fitment in my opinion and 1/4 of the price of oem xenons..
In this setup im using a Autotechnica 6000K hid kit, phillips diamond vision 5000K globes for hi beams, LED wedge for parkers and a silver coated bulb for the turn signals so that they blend into the housing and only look yellow when they're on..

This is the 1st quad exhaust I have seen on a Cab. Do you happen to have any pic's of the underneath showing the quad exhaust.

Thanks

Click on "Store" at the top under MBWorld and you'll see they already have stickers available, along with shirts and other stuff. Price seems reasonable. Just sayin'....

Thanks for the comments guys tried my best to make it look as good as I can.. As for the quad exhaust it's basically piggy backing from my Remus muffler.. It has been done before and there are a few members who have already done it.. What I did was have my two original Remus tips cut off. Then from the left outlet of the muffler a custom Y pipe was created and welded into the two clk 55 oem amg tips . Then an extension pipe was welded to the right side of the outlet from the muffler and was ran across to the otherside which was then welded to a custom Y pipe and into the ML63 oem amg tips.. These Tips were so hard to find but with luck managed to source them all from different locations..basically just wanted them original and matching as I had bought two aftermarket tips but they were slightly bigger in height compared to the oems.. So I sold them and patiently waited lol.. I also ordered a new bumper cut out to suit the factory quad exhaust which is the black piece on the bottom of the bumper so that It would look clean and not have any cuts to it. The part number for the factory dual exhaust bumper piece is:
A209 885 40 25.
I know the piping doesn't look pretty under there lol but its still functional which was my main concern as i wanted all four pipes to be working in terms of smoke coming out from all four and not just a fake setup which would look silly.. has not affected performance either as all the work is after the muffler.. I just had it all painted black so that it wouldn't be visible.

Is NOT the 1st if it fake. I has mine fake/style done 4 years ago with real AMG tips..

I Suppose it's how ya see it .. To me fake would be that the right side tips are not connected to the muffler and are just dummy without any flow going through them.. But at the same time it's not a true dual exhaust as there is no second muffler as it just utilizes the one Remus muffler..

I would contact Ed at Ed Hansens Muffler. He did several custom daul setups on my CLK 55 coupe. I know yours is a vert but I bet he can make something work. His shop is in east county.

Real Nice......

What size tubing did you use?

I am meeting with an exhaust shop tomorrow. I will take pics of your dual setup and of Kevwood's. (tubing around the front of trunk)

I want to have just duals (one on either side) rather than quads. The facia fab may be a problem.

Well Yes I think they're not fake because all four pipes have smoke coming out of them and all four are all connected to the muffler.. it's not exactly the ideal way Or a true dual exhaust like the factory CLK 63/ 55 coupes but for the cabriolet it's really the option you have as there are two support braces underneath which make it difficult to run a pipe on the right side so this method was really the way to go.. Unless you look underneath you cannot tell a I have to say it looks amazing. Really evens out the look and makes it more visually appealing..

Updates look good man

I compared the undercarriage of mine and a buddy's CLK55 cab and it's really interesting to see the slightest differences. I fitted a true dual 3" exhaust all the way from the primary cats to the back where as he could not, due to tighter space on near the spare tire well.

Yes its more limited in spacing with the cabriolet.. A coupe/sedan will always feel more firmer on the road due to the solid roof but I guess that's what you get for having a drop top lol.. My dad has the new e550 cabriolet and they come with dual exhaust as in 2 mufflers on each side so Mercedes Benz designed that well under there. I still can't get over the W209 clk shape though.. It's really has a timeless look and they're so easy to get them looking good . Now if only getting more power was that easy .. :|

Yes. I'm torn, rather my family is torn, between cars.

I want a CLK63 cabriolet. My wife wants a new E550 cabriolet.

I actually wanted a Black Series but the idea got squashed as the car is not practical, as though it is meant to be a station wagon. Yeah. A cabriolet is real practical, right?

The CLK shape is more appealing to me. Something's not right with the E-class styling from my point of view. And I like my old style CLS too.

The CLK black series would be my absolute dream car.. But yes for practical reasons it's not the best.. If you had the choice between the clk 63 amg cabriolet and the E550 cabriolet... Without thinkin twice id say the go the CLK63. End of story. Lol .. The clk has the perfect lines and has that proper "Mercedes" look compared to the new e class.. Also the clk would be quicker and have more options as it's an AMG. So yeah my car isn't a clk 63 but I've made it look almost exactly like the 63 and when I compare it side my side to my dads car (who has the e550 with the amg pack) I still prefer the look of mine.. I'll be honest though I do prefer the new interior of the e class though.. An his engine.. Oh that 5.5 litre V8 engine..

Yes, the 5.5l V8 is sweet - it sounds so great with the top down!

On the dual exhaust issue, I recall reading a post here or on BW where a guy did it. He removed the center resonator and brought two pipes back into a single dual-chamber muffler. Now, if we could just do that, then use your pipe for the passenger side...BINGO! real dual exhaust on a cabriolet!

I did something like that removed the center resonator replaced it with a Xpipe then ran the 2 pipes to a dual in dual out chamber muffler.

I have been thinking how I could do it to the passenger side for months. I am ready to rip spare tire well out.
