Nice - my car came with tints. Never had them before on any car. Now I would never be without them. Improves the looks considerably. Also practical. I now have a couple of deal breakers. Tints, BiX & Parktronic.

This was also my first time with tints on my car, I was very skeptical about getting them at first but now I have no clue what I would do without them. I will probably be tinting every car I own from here on out as long as I don't get in to much trouble with the law because of them.

Tint should always be the first thing to do to the car
I just got my front windshield tinted with AirBlue tint. Reduces heat up to 30 F. It's kinda like the factory Mercedes Blue tint but with more heat rejection

We cant here in California either, but you can normally get away with tints and even if you get a ticket for it its normally just a fix it ticket.
Any pictures disco?

LM rep test fit
I took one of the LM reps that I had on my w203 sedan and test fit it on my CLK. I cant decided if I should just move those wheels over to the CLK or find a new set. I plan on lowering it too so don't mind the crazy gap. Lets here your opinions!
Also one of the wheels got messed up way beyond repair in the accident my w203 was in so I would need to buy a replacement wheel. I contacted the place I bought the wheels from originally and they wont sell me just one wheel. Thinking about just getting a whole set of ESMs gun metal LM reps and putting those on, but if anyone knows of other places to get a good set of LM reps at a good price let me know please!
Thanks!

It's looking really good with the tint! Do you have brembos on the front? Also, IMHO I think you should look for a new set. I think the LM's are a little to aggressive looking and for some reason they look small on the clk. They are 18's, right?
btw How's the system sound with just a sub added? Does the bass drown the sound out?

Thanks man! I have the stock Brembos on I just painted them red. And no they are 19s, the system sounds great with the sub added, you can adjust how much bass you want on the command, no drown at all

Chapter 3:Quad Exhaust
This mod was the one I was most exited for since I bought my CLK. I used OEM quad AMG tips that I got off of another forum member that were originally from a C63 AMG. I also did a muffler delete to make it a bit louder. The car sounds meaner and has a louder growl at take off but surprisingly its not nearly as loud as I expected. I did a muffler delete on my 05 C230 which is a 1.8 4 cylinder and that turned out 10 times louder then the CLK. I think the reason it didn't turn out as loud is because the CLK has more cats then a C (correct me if I am wrong). I may take out the resonator in the future too make it louder but for now I like how it is.

Chapter 4:H&R Lowering springs
In preparation for my new wheels I got my CLK lowered on H&R lowering springs. I was originally going to go with coilovers but after seeing a friends CLK that was on H&R springs I decided that the combo of that and 19 inch wheels should do the trick. I had Sonic MS in mountain view do the install, very good and fast work, highly recommend them if your in the SF bay area. I have driven 200 miles on them so far so they are soposed to settle a little more but I doubt it will go much lower.
Some of the cars at the shop when I went to have the springs installed:

Love the thread so far... it's like you are simply posting the things I am doing lol. I have same car and doing same things atm... I guess we will just have two similar build threads
Do you have any other shots of your exhaust underbelly? I didn't see you mention what you did up near where the oem resonators are. Did you remove them and the 2ndary cats for a muffler there? Any more insight on your exhaust would be great, thanks.
EDIT: I didn't realize you go to SonicMS, what a facility. I used to live in Sunnyvale when I worked at Ames Research Center... what part of the Bay are you in? I'm now in the desert Miss the bay

Thanks!
I did not remove the resonators or cats. I basically just had the OEM muffler cut off and had the piping from were the end of the OEM resonator is split into two; one pipe going to each side. Its not much louder then stock if your just cruising at steady speeds or on the free way and then sounds like a monster when you give it a good push. But still nothing too loud. Personally I like to have louder exhausts normally but I don't really want to mess with the cats so I will likely leave it how it is for now. I don't have more pics, but I am going in to have the tips readjusted (the right side is sitting a little lower then the left) and when the car is up I will take some pics of the underneath for you. Good luck with your build!

Sonic MS is the best, the guys there actually know what there doing and everyones super nice and friendly. Other places I talked to quoted me double what Sonic MS charged me and they did the whole job in about 2.5 hours. I live in Pleasanton (East Bay)
