Nice car! My guess is that your insurance rates are high due to traffic violations? I know the CLK itself will have a very good insurance classification compared to others. For example, the insurance on my CLK550 cabriolet is less than either of my wife's last two cars (Nissan Murano and Jeep Grand Cherokee). The car's ratings are based on average dollars paid in claims per car. Since MBZs are very safe, they have fewer death and serious injury claims for occupants, and since MBZ drivers tend to be more mature and safer drivers, they have fewer liability claims. The least safe drivers tend to be teens, and they tend to drive less expensive cars like Honda Civics and Nissan Altimas. That drives up the rate classification for cars like that. My guess is that you are racking up traffic violations, and unfortunately, it may not be your driving, but what you drive. A CLK is already a cop magnet just because it's a mince, sporty car that's not very common (like Accords and Altimas). Add in all your custom stuff, and I'll bet you can't hardly drive past a cop without being paced. My advice - drive more carefully, and don't drive something that stands out so much!

Hmmm, I been driving for 5 years, I'm 21... Two tickets.. Never Had any accidents or claims,..That's it, and those was 4 years ago... My rate is 1800 for 6 months just for the CLK... Plus I have a SL550 waiting for me to pay off, just cannt afford to have two cars... I am willing to let go on reasonable prices.

Holy cow! Yes, your rates will be high because of your age (under 25) and the tickets, but $1,800 is crazy! We don't pay that much per year for all three of our cars - 2002 C240, 2007 CLK550 cabriolet, and 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Of course it helps being old (50+ ) and married with no claims or violations.

Is that possible to make a closer picture on a front bumper LED?
I like the idea
And as for insurance your price is ridiculous. I bought my CLK500 when i was 29 and the quote was 850, now im 35 and paying 640 for 6 month. Still hight but my agent told me that in IL CLK going at highest rate for some reason.
Anyway, good luck with your sale.

honestly you have a nice car and should part it out to recoup your money!

i already have the quad black lights just need to install them.
also, please provide more info on those LED!

About his LED's on the bumper. Quote from a previous thread:

The LEDs I drilled through my bumper to get those bad boys on. Little crazy work but worth it, you dont know how bright are those.

I had SC5 before but doesn't kit my big brake kit so I'm wanting to return it or sell it or something..

Zhengyucoo, it's obvious you love working on the car and you've done a fabulous job. I think you'd likely see a lot more total $$$ if you parted out some of the more exotic stuff first. May I ask what you used to smoke the tails and were the sidemarkers bought smoked or did you smoke those too?

"right now plasti dipped white you can remove it"
what's plasti-dipped white? the wheels?

oh, I'm well over 25 but have a 2009 at-fault accident and maybe a moving violation I couldn't get squashed. That gives me a $556 penalty, making my 1 year premium $1877 (the 2007 E350 with my wife's safe driver discount is $968 by comparison.)

Zhengyucoo, I hope you have been able to sell your car by now. I was young once and there was a time when I had just one heck of a time trying to afford insurance.

If you are still visiting the forum, let me know where you got your CF front lip spoiler. I've been looking for one that fits over the OEM bumper rather than beneath it. Will not give up the lowering of my 550. I'm thinking I may be able to modify one suxh as yours for my AMG bumper.

Why don't you part the car out and sell it in stock form?

You could make more money and sell it even quicker

if you are going to trade it in you might as well part it out. you are not getting anything back on the trade in. at least you could get something back this way.
