Ok, I have had my car for 6 months now and it is time to customize. Nothing to radical. Going with some 18 inch wheels. I know most go to 19, but I dailey drive and think 18 is the perfect balance, of looks and driveability. I want to lower a little, for looks and a little better handling. I do not want to go full coilover route. I am going with h&r springs. They are the only ones that make specifically for the cab. 1.3 front and 1.1 rear which should just be about the perfect drop to even the front to rear gap. Now for my problem. I cannot find shocks and struts for lowering springs on a clk500 cabriolet. I could just put the springs on with the stock struts and shocks, but will need to upgrade sooner or later and do not want to be stuck with no options. I might just get new wheels and forget about lowering. Any opinions guys?

As of now. There are no part numbers for koni sports or bilstein sports or hd for the convertible. If there is anybody in the aftermarket field that knows any different let me know. Also if they say for a coup, they will physically fit right? Or is the rear suspension different on the coups and verts.

2007 CLK550
Ok this sounds like a great idea... I have a 2007 CLK550 cabriolet and I went to the Koni site, I don't see a 550 listed, they list the 500 don't know if this would be the same or not. Any other lowering kits for the 550?

I have an 06 500 coupe that was previously lowered. I might be getting an 07/08 550 convertible with stock springs. Would I be able to switch the springs on the two cars or are they different?
