Very subtle shaking on clk550
Hello everyone
About a month ago I got cam plugs changed on my clk550 and do to the mechanics fault of not installing the engine cover properly my car was idling rough hence shaking the car. With your guys help and suggestions I had them re install the engine cover which made the car a lot better.
But today I noticed very subtle shaking at idle, I mean you really have to look out for the shaking and stay still to notice it.
Since I never sat in or test drove another clk550, Is this normal or do I have to take the car back to get it looked at?
I mean should the car be completely shake free![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
Car drives fine otherwise and now has approx 21500 miles
Thanks in advance for your input

motor or transmission mounts? are your RPM's bouncing around? Throwing a code/light? My 500 shakes some, but I know I need to do motor mounts sometime in the future.

I asked my mechanic about the subtle shake at idle on my CLK550. He said- hey, its a high performance engine. Its gonna do that.
But when I get on it-no stumble, no missfire, it just flies.
I think its kinda cool

The idle on my CLK55 seems a little rough as well...but I guess it's normal for the size of the engine. I have checked mounts, etc etc and everything is good. I say ignore it and see if it develops some actual symptoms.

The rpm needle does not jump up and down. Its very subtle. I really have sit still to feel it.
My main question is that does anyone feel the slightest shake when there vehicle is in park or is your vehicle 100% smooth and shake free on idle?

its a 5.5L v8 thats a big engine its going to shake. and when you are going down a hill and the tran downshifts and the revs go up you will probably feel a rumble from the exhaust. my 500 does and its only a 5.0L

As long as the idle is steady, it's just the engine motion you feel. I had my motor mounts replaced and it still does it - it's just a big engine in a tight unit-body frame.
