CLK350 '07 vs CLK350 '09
Are there any yearly differences between the 07 CLK 350 and the 09 CLK 350? I'm looking at buying one however I'm unsure if there are any differences in the years I should know about (any styling differences, issues fixed in the 09 that were present in the 08)

Both are post facelift so cosmetics s/b identical. One thing an 09 ensures is a thoroughly sorted car. Guarantees you are out of the transmission niggles & balance shaft sprocket wear issue. Some 2007 cars still had these. Depends on production date.
There were some improvements to the telematics on final production CLK's. I don't know how this affected US cars.

The balance shaft issue can be a huge problem on MY07 cars. I would stay away from buying one unless you have an extended warranty or proof it had already been repaired.

If you find a MY2007 you like, just check the engine serial number to see if it's in the balance shaft range or not. Engine serial nubmer can be determined by VIN via an EPC lookup (some of use here have access - there is a thread on the forum where you can post a VIN and we'll be glad to help). But as Glyn says, the later the model year, the more bugs were worked out. Also, for MY2009, there was a "final edition" for the CLK350 that gave it the sport appearance package from V8, bigger breaks and some special interior touches.

To my knowledge when buying used car. Always get the last model of the car . Because any previous year issues
Already been fix on the newer. That being said hope there no issue on my 2009 clk grand edition lol

^ +1. And the corollary of that: Don't buy the first model year of a new or redesigned vehicle. With MBZ, this is probably less about a new body style and more about major changes such as new engines or electronic systems. For example, the new new A207 E-Class is basically a W209 with some new sheet metal, though it does have the new radio system. But the later models of the W203 had the new M272 engines, which had the potential balance shaft/timing gear problems. So really, the best advice is to do your homework, read the forums, and make an informed decision.

I am an early adopter in my audio visual hobby. This always costs me. Having worked with the OEM's for years in my oilco job I stay well away from the latest models of cars until the wrinkles are ironed out. My W209 was one of the last off the production line.
