Sun visor

I recently bought a bluetooth device which clips on the sun visor. I had to take the BT out today for charging and I noticed that the little panel which covers the mirror would not stay in place anymore I looked at the panel and one of the two plastic tabs on top is broken.

Can I buy this cover alone or do I have to buy the whole sun visor?

Unfortunately, you will have to buy a whole new sun visor, unless you can find a used pull-off part.

I went to Parts.com and could not find the sun visor. Probably I didn't know where to look.

Is it possible there is another name for this part? Anyone knows the part number?

You need to go to your dealer with your VIN number to ensure correct part & colour.

Not $200 - only $90 + S&H at parts.com:

http://www.parts.com/parts/index.cfm...earch&siteid=2

Give me your VIN and I can lookup the proper part with color code. That one is black.

Yes, this is great service. Thanks, Rudeney, for your help.

Just for the fun of it, I called the local delaership and they asked for $195can for this part. With tax, I would have to pay $220can locally.

If there any DIY instructions to change this sun visor?

Replacement is easy - three bolts on the hinge and it's off.

On my car, I saw only 2 bolts on the left side of the sun visor. To remove the bolts would remove the sun visor. Is there a sensor there because when the cover of the vanity mirror is pulled up, the light on the headliner would turn on?

Oh, I thought the coupe had 3 bolts, but I guess it is 2 just like the cabriolet. Anyhow, just remove them and the whole visor comes off. There is no wiring there. It's actually an ingenious design for the mirror light - the electrical contacts are on the other end where the visor clips in place. As you rotate it back up, it loses contact, and of course it also loses contact if you unclip the visor.

So, the purpose of the 2 botls is just to hold the sunvisor in place, no wiring/contact inside.

Thanks.

Correct - the bolts are just for attachment. The electrical is on the other end.

Rodney, have you seen a pn for the visor clip itself? I am missing the driver side one...only the metal contact pieces are there, none of the plastic moulding...
