Valeo Wipers
I visited my local auto stores and asked for wipers for my car. They offered Valeo $38 per set and Bosch for $66. They said both are OEM wipers.
Is Valeo wiper any good? Not getting the Bosch because it's price is similar to MB wipers.

Why not try replacing the rubber strip?
I've been doing it lately. It's not hard to replace. There are some videos on youtube teaching how to take the end cap of the wiper off and then you just slide in a new rubber strip.
The rubber strips only cost a few dollars at the local car parts store or petrol station.

I looked at doing this on my OEM wipers, but the rubber strip is also part of the airfoil an I don't see how it will come out of the metal/plastic assembly. I am thinking about removing the trapezoidal block for the wiper arm so that there is just a round pin there that should mate with any "generic" wiper blade.

Forgot to say I'm using the Bosch aerofoil wiper blade.
I can't remember the name of them exactly, but they are made by Bosch (aerofoil?).
My usual process is to remove the wiper from the metal arm on the car. This then gives me better access to the aerosol part.
Then I yank off the end cap of the aerosol and this lets the inner rubber blade slide out.
I've found I can usually reuse the aerofoil body about 3 times before it breaks. Still this is a huge saving in cost.
If this explanation is too vague, I'll try take some pictures when I get a chance.
Cheers,

I like using these nice genuine guys but we get them replaced "free" under Mobilodrive plan. They way outlast generics in our harsh SA sun.

I do not like the Bosch wipers - the plastic slide clips break easily. A few weeks back, when washing the car, I pulled on the blade to raise the wiper from the glass and that plastic clip broke and the blade came off of the arm. The arm then slammed back onto the glass windshield and cracked the glass.

Contrary to Rudeney's experience, Bosch blades have been fine for me in the very rainy weather of Oregon. You can get a set of Bosch aerotwin blades on amazon for ~38 if you want to go with that, but valeo blades should get the job done.

Oh, the performance of the Bosch blades has been excellent. It's just the slide-clip mechanism I have a problem with. I even noticed when I installed them that the clips were "suspect".

I bought the MB wiper blades from the dealership this morning. List price was $64CAN per set. The blade has a dot which is supposed to be the wear indicator. This wear indicator is located on the top of the blade, not the bottom where it touches the windsheild. Wonder how it works.
The parts guy asked me if I needed help. Good that I said yes because the connector of one of the wiper arms was broken. The guy did manage to install the wiper blade by squeezing it in with lubricant. It was light rain on my way to work and the blades worked great.
I will have to change this connector next time. I checked oediscountparts and they call this part the "wiper arm slide". It's Item 5 in the link below.

Can someone tell me how this part is connected to the wiper arm?

Whoever made them, these MB wipers are excellent yesterday when we had light rain here. It is dry today and just to check, I turned on the wipers, no noise at all. Hope they last as long as my previous set.
Does anyone know how to replace the little clip at the end of the wiper arm?
