My 2005 CLK 320's air conditioning system has been an issue for my family for some time. I'm hoping someone on here can provide some guidance.
AC only blows cold air when I driving at higher speeds. Only ambient air is blown while stopped or moving a slow speeds.
The refrigerant levels have recently been replenished.
Any thoughts on what could be causing this, and any solutions that can fix the problem? It's so hot where I live.

i have this problem, and mine even turns on and off when driving lol it got more random progressively...after some research and responses on the forum. The comm. confirmed it was a blower regulator. Im purchasing it this weekend and replacing ill confirm if it fixed.

Thanks for the response. Please keep me in the loop on if this is the solution. How much did the blower regulator cost you?Originally Posted by pskdude

Do you have a part # you can share? Thank you in advance.

If it keeps blowing, but the air gets warm, it's not the blower or blower motor regulator. In this case, I would guess it's the engine suction fan not operating properly. It has to run when the engine is at idle to keep air blowing across the evaporator and radiator.

Changed it today. I only drove for about 30 min. so i cant be definitive. Ill update after a couple of days if it fixed the issue. It was about a 15 DIY. The only hard part was removing the blower from the casing to get to the regulator. It has some white Clips you need to leverage to remove it.

How's it working out for you?

It def worked. But again if you want to wait a little longer. the weather was pleasant this weekend so the a/c use was prohibited. on the bright side it did not turn on in the off position which was a previous issue.

When you had your problem, did the air always blow, but the air got warm? Or did the air turn off/on. My air has always worked, its the cold air that would come on/off.Originally Posted by pskdude

Rudeney comment above made me want to confirm with you that we have the same issue. To be clear, my air always works. Its the cold air that comes on only when I accelerate and drive fast.
Thanks for clarifying.

Ok, then you might have another issue. I interpreted incorrectly. The regulator from the research i have done usually just screws with the blower speeds not the Compressor/cold air. You might have another issue.

Just an update. Just in case maybe our issues are related in some senses. lol. My A/c keeps turning on and off even resistor changed. Replacing the A/c temp control unit next.
@pskdude If your pressure is too high the AC will turn on and off. You can check this real fast by turning your temp to LO, pressing your AC Rest button so the light comes on (AC off) then hold it for about 5 seconds and the screen should start flashing with numbers. Press the Left Auto button 7 times so the left number reads 07 and then the right number will read the pressure.
@2005MBCLK320 I am having a very similar problem and posted my topics here-- https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...warm-idle.html and https://mbworld.org/forums/mercedes-...warm-idle.html
