What do you use to clean 04 CLK500 interior?
Folks, what do you guys use to clean the interior of the car? Doors, dashboard, leather seats and all? Anything in particular for whole interior? As MY2004 leather seems like grainy.
Also, one of the headrest on the rear seat is chipping and I need to make sure am taking proper care of the whole interior.
Any tips or input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I read that using products will damage the leather on the long run. When I get my car washed, I ask the worker to just wipe everything with a damp microfiber towel and that's it.
The brand new "Mercedes" smell can still be smelt in the car. This is another reason why I don't like products.

I use Meguiars leather spray (creams clog up the vented seat perforations) on the leather and the plastics. I found that all the protectants left the surface of the plastics too shiny and a bit "oily". My purpose for my use on both the leather and plastics is to provide some UV protection and moisture for these surfaces.
I use a damp microfiber cloth on the wood, trim chrome, and vents. I occasionally use a small bit of Meguiars polish/wax on the wood. I also wipe down the headliner and rear window shelf with a damp microfiber cloth.
I do use Meguiars protectant on the door seals.

You can get it at most auto parts stores. I've used it for years, even before the CLK, and I am very pleased with it. The following is an extract from a review on one of the auto parts stores regarding the product:
I've been using this product for many years on all of my vehicles to include show cars, off-road vehicles, and daily driver cars. I've found this product to work well in rehydrating leather and preventing cracking. It refreshes the color of leather that has not been seriously neglected and returns the suppleness.
This product is more watery than other lotion style products, so it is easier to spray and wipe, and there is not the oily residue that may require an additional cloth to clean prior to sitting no the surface.
The cost for: Meguiar's Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner-Conditioner Spray (16 oz) is $11-$12.

The protectant is different and I use it on the door seals. You could use the protectant on the vinyl but I find it too shiny (even the low gloss).

I also use a damp microfiber cloth for routine cleaning. I use Pledge Multi-Surface cleaner with a microfiber cloth for anything that water won't clean. For the leather, I like Lexol. I use a damp boar's hair brush and work up a good lather, then wipe down and dry with microfiber.

I've always used Windex (ammonia free!) on all my interiors. It works well as it is fairly gentle, removed dirty and dust and it leaves the interior looking like new. I personally don't like using products that make the interior shiny and greasy like Armorall etc. armor
