Aftermarket Stereo for 2005 CLK 320 (and other questions)

Looking for aftermarket stereo for CLK 320. That will fit in without complicated wiring! The dash looks like:

I have been reading around the forum but I need some guidance. All I want is an AUX input. I tried getting the AUX in cable (A210 440 50 05) but I don't have the input for it. Any other options?

Also, what are some easy aftermarket upgrades I can do? I already did tints and rims. I was thinking of
Backup Radar System Backup Radar System
? Anything else?

Thanks!

NO LONGER ACTIVE
There are lots of options - any double-DIN aftermarket unit will fit. Assuming you don't have the Harmon-Kardon system, or don't want an external amp, wiring is easy. The challenge is in finding the W209 version of the faceplate kit - most places sell the W203 kit and claim it fits, but it does not. It can be modified to fit, but the W209 "facelift" kit is best,if you can find it.

I believe if you have the CDC button on your console, you should have aux input. You should check inside the right side of your glove compartment for a aux jack or a hole. There's a YouTube video that shows you how to connect the aux cable through the passenger side panels

I did and I do have the hole in the glove compartment but the wiring for the aux input is not in 2005 models for some reason.

Its actully very easy to add the aux cable if your willing to pull apart the dash and plug a wire into the back of the radio

Well, you're right, it is easy... once you know were you have to plug the new connector. The web didn't help me a lot

Anyway, you just have to pull out the original white connector, and plug the new one into the black frame (connector 3), and then to insert the frame into the Audio 20.

Then, AUX input will be available by holding the CDC button one second or so.

Did you check behind the access panel? Open the passenger side door and pop the panel on the side of the dash, side of the glove compartment. If you are luck you should have the AUX cable hanging there.

251 mm

It took quite a while but the Chinese have finally introduced the correct size Android unit for W209. Most still claim the 261mm for the 203 will fit but they are simply full of it as 251 is correct.

Available on Ebay about 550 shipped and it looks pretty nifty. Improved display and supposedly 4.4 O/S.

But, I don't think they support that fiber connection.

I think that is correct

The seller supplies a workaround patch cable.
I don't understand how it can interface with the COMAND system so the steering wheel buttons work.
