There are a ton of threads on the forum about this subject. do a quick search you'll find a lot of good info about them. In general changing out your head unit means loosing your fiber optic sound system (BOSE speakers) then rerouting new wires for your speakers and installing an amp and so forth.

I read all the forms very few of them have done it on w209 clk . I am just worried about sound quality and wanted to see if anyone actually did it on there clk.

If you've read the forums you probably know this already, but at least some of those online systems were really made for a different Mercedes (C or E - I cant recall) and although they advertise they fit a 209, they are really a bit too wide so make sure about that as well.

A MY2005 CLK is pre-facelift, so the ones designed for the W203 will be a direct fit. It was the facelift caused problems. Pre-facelift, the radio has a rounded corner shape that fits within the wood (or metal) dash panel. Post-facelift, the radio spans the entire width of the center stack, and on the W209, this is slightly more narrow than the W203.

Three in each door (two on the lower panel plus the sail panel tweeter). If you have the Bose system, then there is a center speaker in the dash, and a subwoofer between the rear seats.

I am guessing the 2 on the bottom are mids for front and back. and the 1 in the sail is a tweeter ? I was going to get the android system and add a 5 channel to power the subs and speakers . how would i go about powering the center speaker and tweeters ?

I believe the two lower door speakers are "full range" and the sail panels are tweeters with simple crossovers (tied to the front lower speaker). The front center and rear subwoofer are individual channels.

how do i get the center speaker to work if i only have 4 channels ? i remember reading somewhere that you take the positive for the right and left and hook them into the positive of the center speakers . is that a good idea?

If i get an amp it will be a 5 channel . 4 for the front and rear and 1 for the sub . i still wont have the center working . do i just connect it to the front speakers ? also how much power can the speakers and the original subwoofer take ? Not looking to chance the speakers ...

Im looking into this as well.
Mine is the tape player system with the 6 changer in the glove box.
I would really like to have an AUX ability outside of am fm transmitter, but do not want to lose the stock look.
