Worst mod I have ever done

So I just removed all 4 cats on my clk320 04 and it didn't do much of a difference. Can someone tell me what I did wrong? Because after watching others peoples 320 it's sounds way better and all they did was remove the 2nd cat

you should have left the cats up front because you are going to have issues with the cel now. Most remove the rear or secondary cats and the resonator. But i dont know anyone that has done it on a 320 to know what it will sound like. if you still have stock muffler and resonator you arent going to hear much of a difference. If your just going for sound, i would put the front cats back on and play with resonator and better muffler

Yea I guess I'm going to take off the resonator to see. I have no problem with cel since I have exentry to turn off the sensor. But I'm just so confused as to why mine sounds the same and how other people got them sounding amazing...

gixxerboy is on target. The difference you perceive could be due to the others you've heard have a small leak where the pipe was welded in to replace the secondary cats or resonator.

In order of sound abatement there is the muffler, the secondary cats, then the resonator. I don't know if the secondary cats on your MY are actually cats or resonators.

There actually catalytic converters. What I did was just gut them by opening a door and re welding it back on

Hmmm! If you gut a cat (that sounds awful ), rather than removing it and replacing it with a piece of straight pipe you have essentially created a higher volume capacity area and the gases will expand at this point. The expansion will allow the gases to cool more rapidly and it's speed will decrease. The decreased speed will allow the following gases to catch up and crash into the gases already at the expansion point. This will partially cancel the frequencies (volume) within each of the two pulses.

This is one reason why bigger mufflers are generally quieter than smaller ones....

I think if you replace the gutted cat with a straight pipe you will get more volume. But I can't say, of course, if that will be enough for you.

The only reason I gut it was because I wanted it to look like there is a cat there under the car. Do you think removing the resonator would get the sound I'm looking for

Removing the resonator will increase the exhaust volume. I don't know if it will be enough for what you seek.

The best order, IMO, would have been resonator delete, secondary delete (skip if cats), muffler replace.

I've heard my car with just the cats (it was on stands - not on the street) and didn't find anything pleasing about the uncontrolled noise it can make.....

Told me what? All you said that it would sound like an f150. I said nothing about how it sounded like. I'm just saying that it did not meet my expectation. And yeah I did say it sounded good, for a day or two after realizing it barely made a difference. And are you really going to say "Told you so" like a little kid? Grow up dude... Lol, And what made you think I doubted you? I honestly could care less what(specifically) you say now.
