CLK500 vs BMW 645Ci
Well, its coming close to time for me to get a new car. Since my dad got an E, I figured it was only right for me to follow in his footsteps and get a Benz too, preferably CLK500. But I was doing more car shoppin', in this ridiculous snow, and came across the 6-series, or 645Ci, which was alot pricier than the CLK500 but looked sooo sweet inside and out.
SO the ultimate question comes down to this:
Which would be a better choice for the money, prestige, and a better long-term investment between the BMW645Ci or the Mercedes-Benz CLK500?

maybe you can get help from this months road and track,they compare the two and come up with 2 different opinions, but find them each unique, at least they feel the two are worthy oponents even though the bmw is $15k more

As a former bimmer guy...
As a former BMW owner (323ci and X5) I wouldnt touch the new 6 series until it has been out for at least two years. It WILL have problems, more than you would expect.
In the Road and Track magazine they matched up well with each other. Save your money, save a B pillar and get an awesome 500.

I thought you owned the E320 the way you posted in the w211 section. I see it's your daddy's.

For a 6 series, I would stick with a benz and get a CL55. Is your daddy going to get your new car too?

I got pics of the new 6 series..... or is a 5?
This is why i'm a MB convert after owning a 540 and loving it.
Here are pics of the new 5 or 6 series BMW, not sure which one it is...... but definitely related to both!

what do you think? wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pool. I'd rather drive a bmw chasis wrapped in aluminum foil.

Im sorry I may be way off but I would figure someone who has enough money to go out and buy a new sl55 and another mercedes... or any mercedes for that matter would be mature enough to not post stupid crap like this. Im sorry, I dont think there is anything wrong with someones father buying them a present (if that were the case) On the other hand I know for a fact that there are many people who are jealous of people whos fathers do get them such expensive gifts. Why not just keep your feelings to yourself its not your money and its not your problem.

I haven't driven the new 5's, i just can't bare to look at them. but my old 540 drove like a dream. I don't think an MB will ever drive quite like the BMW's did, but I just can't believe what BMW did do their stying.
