Driver's door controls not working

2008 550CLK convertible. All Driver's door controls stopped working yesterday. When operating the control for the convertible top - three windows lower; the driver's window remains up. I've read a number of threads that all point to the DCM. Some of those threads have mentioned a software update and a fuse being the culprit. Before moving forward with replacing the DCM I have a few questions. First, I was hoping to find out which fuse or fuses I should look at? Additionally, I was wondering if these symptoms describe a situation that would be cured by a software update? Lastly, if I replace the DCM myself (with a used DCM) will I need to do a software update anyway?

Thank you for any help.

Assuming your driver's side is the left side, then check fuse #21 on the cabin panel. If it's RHD, then fuse #22.

Hey, I just bought a 2008 Clk350 and I'm having the same problem that you had. Were you able to figure out how to fix it?

If it's not the fuse, I find my driver's seat not properly set in it's locked position. Just try to lift the seat forward & push back down & then try the adjustments. Sometimes, I have to get a little forceful (read slam) the seat down into position then the controls work fine. Obviously, careful not to break anything. Search for a few threads on this topic.

Thanks for the reply. I will try that but i think its a biger issue than that. Nothing on the driver door works. Including the seats, windows, mirror (left side still moves!), Light on top of the vanity mirror. Locks do work. Tried to put in a new DCM but still no power. All fuses look OK. Really stuck here.

Maybe it's a wiring issue going from the body into the door.

Put in a new battery today and now the back window opened up a little on its own and the engine fan stays on after I shut the engine until I disconnect the battery. DCM still doesn't work. Are there and specific wires to check or is it just a big guessing game now?

I got my hands on a Autel DS708 maxidas scanner tool. Is there any way to diagnose these electrical systems with the scanner? After the new battery was installed the battery still dies overnight.

UPDATE: Seems like it was the DCM. Just replaced it. Everything started working again and no more battery drain issues.

It's a door control module. Its a simple plug and play fix once you can get the door panel off. It controls the seat, mirror, windows etc.

I had exactly same problem. About 5x happened that all buttons on drivers (right) door stopped working, puddle light stays off, window and lock don't move at all either. Problem cured sooner or later itself except last time. I followed red / white cable from door module through right side kick panel and realized that in threshold, under the plastic cover is this wire broken. I replaced about 30cm of cable and so far, so good.

I have a problem when opening and closing both doors it stays recognized as closed , the front dome light and side doors light are frozen , as the windows too when opening and closing the doors,
And whatever I opened stays showed as opened , such as hood , boot ,doors and every thing closed stays recognized as closed ,
I think its a wiring or electric paws issues
Fuse boxes all checked nothing missing or wrong
