Please help, Electric windows/mirrors DCM??

Hi,

My first post so hello to everyone.

I have recently purchased a 2002 W209 CLK 240.

Yesterday i opened my door after returning home and noticed it did not drop down.

Drivers side

Windows front and back both sides do not work on front or rear switch, not illuminated either, boot did work but now doesnt either. windows do not drop down and go up when door opened. Front window stuck fully up and rear window stuck in the drop down position

Passenger side

Front window drops down but does not go up when door shut, but can use passenger front window switch to put back up. Back window not working at all and stuck in drop down position. this side is illuminated.

Have checked fuse 21/22 to the side of the dash drivers side and looks ok, checked fuse 63 in engine and looks ok. Have taken door card off drivers side and played around with connections, nothing obvious there.

Is there anything else it could be before i go and buy a used DCM, will a used one work as a direct replacement or does it need to be programmed. As passenger side is playingup will i need to replace both sides.

Thanks in advance for replies

Adam

Try pulling fuses 21, 22, 32 and 33 for a few minutes to reset the door controllers. You will then need to re-normalize the windows: with the doors closed, lower teach window halfway, then for each, pull fully up on the switch and hold for 5 extra seconds after the glass is raised

Thank you for the reply really appreciate it. I'm guessing i need to pull the fuses with ignition off and just leave for a few minutes then replace and hope the windows work?

not fixed the issue and now my rear window is open more 😭

Check the vehicle battery voltage - 12.6v at rest, no less than 11v during cranking, 14v at idle. Anything less than that and you have a battery or alternator issue.

Just checked battery, couldn't check while cranking as no one to look while I turn it over but it's 12.56 turned off and 14.41 at idle so seems OK.

I'm thinking in need to buy another dcm drivers side but will I need one for each side as the rear window is playing up on back passenger side as well?

thanks for all your input by the way 😊

The door controllers do not affect the rear windows - they are controlled by the "rear" door controllers on the coupe (or soft top module on the cabriolet).

Should I check the fuse on the sam in the boot? If so what fuse would it be.
Thought you might all find this picture amusing as the speedo was really playing up but has sorted it's self today

Fuses 32 and 33 are the left and right (respectively) rear door controller fuses.
