DIY - How to remove IR sensor (w203, w209) - without cutting anything!!!
Everyone STOP CUTTING YOUR DAMN KEY LOCKS TO REMOVE THE IR SENSORRR!!!!!!!!
I don't understand why the internet has gone down this road and that no one has figured out how to remove the sensor nicely. How do think Mercedes got the sensor in there, they sure as hell didn't build the lock around it.
There are two pins that you just pull out and the front face of the lock comes out and then you simply slide out the sensor.
The pins however can be annoying, one of mine I had to drill out, for it's replacement I just cut a nail to about the size of the pin and put it back in the whole.
Big thank you to whoever the hell it was on the internet that figured out that all that was required was the soldering of the pins for the auto/open close function.
As you can see in the photos there are some scratch marks, this is from me trying to work out what was holding the lock in, you wont get this if you just remove the pins. It was annoying having to drill one of the pins out, if someone figures out a better method to pull these *******s out will save everyone a little headache.
