Cheers all, been a while since posting here. Bought an 08 CLK 350 on line last May, out of FLA. Owner said no problems, everything works. Talked to her mechanic two times, he said all ok. Got it home, 1st night in my garage left a 4 in. oil spot on floor. Just cam plugs, so no big problem. Then I go to put down the top no response. Try to lower the rear passenger window , and just hear the drum turning with the broken cable flopping around. Then check engine light on. Dreaded Cam shaft problem. My ind mechanic said he can't fix, suggested swap engines. This is all at 92,000mi. Anyway decided to cut my loses. Sold to CarMax $2,500. The cheapest 08 CLK in America.
Hello 2002 (W208) CLK 55 AMG. Just turned over 75,000mi., 3rd owner, all books and records from day 1, original window sticker, (over $80,000).
Picked it up in Savannah (always southern car) and drove it back to Kansas (1,200 mi, 7 states
) in two days. GREAT Road trip, Super power!!!! (fuel cut off kicks in at 155 mph!!!!) So hopefully I will have better luck with the 208, 55 AMG.
Only problem..........the remote trunk release will not work....only can open the trunk with the key.hum mm. Any suggestions?
Congrats!!! It looks very clean. Is the top as it should be? It may just be the angle at which the pic was taken, but the rear brace looks to create a steep ridge between the top and rear of the canvas. Hope you have a better experience with the 55.
Congrats! Always get a PPI that way you do not have to run into these issues. A shame the previous owner did a cobb job to their CLK but at lease this one is great!
