thinking of radio replacement ?'s
Everything I read says I can replace with an aftermarket radio if it doesn't have the Harmon Kardon radio option. Mine has a crappy surround speaker in the dash center grill but that is how Crutchfield determines if it has the Harmon Kardon option. So, does anyone know what is possible? The speakers and options list have no mention of anything except the Bluetooth option. No wording on the speaker grills either. 2009 CLK550. TIA!

The only way I could tell that I have the harmon kardon was in the back speakers it has a label on the grill. As far as I know and what I’ve read so far you can replace the head unit but from my understanding you have to replace the inside speakers to since the amp has different settings. I am trying to confirm all this as we speak.

confirmed it has Harmon-Kardon as the emblem is on the driver's side rear speaker. Unfortunately, this makes it a problem I don't have the desire to tackle. I may visit my local stereo shop to hear what they say.

i’ve done quite a few audio equipment swaps in many cars so I’m not afraid to tackle the difficult job but if I have to bypass a lot of stuff and tap into a lot of stuff and I find a different way to do it.

I personally dont like that head unit....its very limited (no wireless android auto or carplay) i just think if your going to spend THAT KIND OF MONEY you get at least a 9inch full touch screen because analog buttons? cmon. They also have way better units on DHGATE ALI-express (whatever made in china website you use or will use) with much more ram and faster 8 core cpu's and dash kits that you could vinyl wrap in carbon (if your into that sorta thing like i am

yeah im sure the only good thing on that site is the Harmen Kardon Fiber optics adapter and i bet you could get a better one or the same one on the Chinese sites anyway
