Also how do they remove the arms that you hold onto to get and lift yourself out of the backseat I know there’s a plastic tab you pry out and then what’s next just pull it straight out there’s no screws or anything holding it?

I think you are not getting responses because all this a. has been answered before and b. can be found with a little google searching. you can look up your car in a vin decoder and get the colors. also you can go to an online MBdealer and put in your vin to get the right part number.

First informal so I want to say thank you for offering your help I will say that
The whole premise of this forum is so people stay away from dealerships. Are used to be a Mercedes mechanic Volvos sobs Porsches. They are the biggest rip offs known to mankind suggesting people on this form to go there is very sad. I see posts on people with simple problems ending up going to the dealership on this website and getting screwed. I’ve done a brake job with brake pads from the same place that Mercedes buys them from another words the same manufacturer

I purchased them on eBay I did a brake job on my car for $63 front and rear. I’m seeing stories of people going to the dealership and paying upwards to $600 rotors can be purchased for about $50 each a good set not the cheap $30 ones . Going to a dealership for anything it’s crazy. I bought a car that needed a key fob they quoted me at 360 I found a guy an hour and a half from my house he did it for 100 bucks programming and a key fob.

Mercedes doesn’t sell headliner material they sell the entire unit they want upwards to $1400 for a headliner. You can go to a junkyard and pick one up for $100 and get the material for another hundred and get the job done for 250. A lot of people don’t know that that’s the kind of help we should be offering on these forums. I think we should be steering everyone as far as possible from dealerships unless it’s 100% absolutely necessary for instance getting your car scanned for certain problems fine that makes sense. But you could also find shops that do have the precise scanning tools it may cost you $200 but it’ll save you a lot of money.

The dealerships they won’t scan your car unless they’re going to do the job . I was hoping there were some people on this forum that actually did the job themselves and went to a certain website and there’s a few out there that match them up perfectly but it looks like a lot of people either put the thumbtacks up or they go to the dealership which amazes me and why they’re even on these forms if they’re going to go to the dealership to get things done.

Karajay,

you do a lot of whining. Has anyone checked your diaper today. With all your commercial experience you seem rather helpless.

your buddy,
zill.

Why don’t you just recommend to everyone on this form going forward that they have if they have a problem with their car they should go directly to a dealer that would be so useful for everyone on these forums that want to fix things themselves. Then take your diaper garbage and shove it OK people are sick of people like you on these forms where they get a little kickback or a little criticism or if they get called out they start using stupid words like yours. Whining and diapers are you serious. What are your fascist we’re only you can criticize people and no one else can rebuke your statement

The part number which they gave me three separate codes which is all about the interior color leather seats and dash and nothing to do with the cloth. And when you use that same code for any manufacturer that sells it a.k.a. third-party they have no clue what the numbers for. So calling the dealer for the interior code that’s what you’re getting at is useless. I already thought of that in the very beginning that’s why I’ve been asking has anybody done an interior cloth change what company did they use and what color did they request

Easy when you call up the companies in California and all over the country. They already have predetermined colors so you have to ask them what their opinion is and they’ll maybe send you a swatch what you got a pay $15 for and match it up. What I was hoping for is to find someone who already did the legwork. When I find the right color I will guarantee I will post the name of the place the color that I chose and I will also list my vehicle and my interior color code according to the Vin

well as someone who had changed all the pillars and headliner in my e class i can tell you the info it out there. if you want help with yours maybe proved your vin or a picture of the colored part in question.

your first post it quite vague with no real info. kind of like asking how long is a rope.

I called the dealership and I gave them my Vin number but they could only say that it was black silver which really didn’t help. Upon more research it looks like it could be considered ash. I found a company out in California a bit expensive for most at $32 a yard that’s going to send me some samples. I can say this that the W209 or the CLK 350s from I think 0409 are all the same silver it’s gray color. Then they have a tan and I think that’s it. I guess the way you have to do it is Ask for samples. Because some of these companies that sell cloth don’t go by the dealer color codes they just make their own.

I found the company after sending me nine samples has a close match called silver gray. They say a lot of people call them up with the same problem the dealerships can only give them a call but no other information the only way you’re going to get the right material is by asking for samples from different companies that make material for head liners. So my advice is find a company have them send you samples and go from there having color codes with a Vin is not gonna help you because these companies make up the wrong color they don’t match what dealership have for colors

The company I found where has the best pattern match and colors is globalupholstery’s They are expensive $32 a yard but you know what it’s not like you need 15 yard so who cares I’d rather pay extra for quality and exact match
