Brake Booster Vacuum Hoses - Part ID

What is:
- the name?
- the function?
- the termination of the other end?
- part number, if known?
In my ‘04 CLK it has chafed through with a 1/2 inch section carved away. Length is still intact.
Further: Transmission will only shift out of Park when started if done immediately, in sequence.
- Brake depressed
- Ignition to Start
- Immediately move selector lever
If there is a delay, it will not allow shift.
If returned to “P” with engine still running:
- With brake depressed and held it will allow shift into and out of “P, no problem.
- If brake is not depressed, it will not allow shift out of “P”.
Manual Shift Release works just fine.
Shift pattern/behavior while driving is correct.
Opinions and experiences welcome.
Please identify the “white hose/line”.
I have 2 each 2001 ML320 (same engine/same transmission), neither have this small white line coming from the brake booster vacuum port.

but i remember that vaccum line is used also for headlamp adjustment.
did you received the mail with the PDF of the brake booster assembly?
Any ideas?

I know the black plastic pipe is from the vacuum pump. What’s the grey pipe for that goes in to the fuse box from the servo?

For my Original Post: The small white tubing at the brake booster provides 'power' for the rear-passenger headrest "Fold" action. It is a vacuum actuated latch initiated from a dashboard switch. (The 'hint' for it's purpose was from a suggestion on another forum.)
(Always keen to learn more about these early-aught MB's. I have 5 total and love them all.
2000 CLK320 22,000, 2001 ML320 (Designo, and a Sport) 190,000 on each, 2004 C230 SportsCoupe 114,000, and 2004 CLK320 72,000)
