Question Creaking over rough roads?

There's one street near my house that I go down on the way to/from work every day. It's got quite a bit of undulation/bumps/rough spots/etc. on it. No "potholes" per se (I think of "potholes" as being the kind you get in the North from the beatings of winter on the streets) but it's quite a bumpy ride. The Beast isn't my daily beater so it hasn't gone down that street too often, but I notice that when I do, there's a kind of creaking noise that seems to be coming from the left front, but I can't exactly echo-locate it precisely.

My Beast is 3+ years old and has only 4300+ miles on it (and 13 months left in the warranty), and so I'll probably just take it in, but I'm curious what this noise could be - maybe just a squeaky front shock that hasn't gotten much use, so it's "dried out"? Can I just spray some WD-40 on it

Wow ... I'm the only CLK55 owner with a creaky car? No ideas? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Are you sure that it is the front end and not from the edges of the passenger seat (where the leather rubs against the plastic by the door sill? That is the only squeek I've heard on my 430 or 55. That problem was fixed w/ a little felt between the surfaces.

The only creaks I had in my car is the seat/panel(previous post stated), the headrest( solution posted months ago), and the rear seats not locked in completely. Fortunately I do not have any other problems. I have about 27K miles on my car.

No, this creaking doesn't sound like an internal seat thing to me. It definitely sounds external. Almost like a squeaky spring. Not quite a rattle, but definitely noticable.

Guess I'll find a dealer and take it in under warranty ...

I've also had problems w/rear seat latches getting squeaky, but a quick shot of WD 40 on the lock mechanism periodically will solve this...

Have the dealer check the bushings....could be a squeaky one down there.

Took the Beast out today ... the creaking definitely comes from the front left someplace. So it might be a suspension bushing?
