Here is something I have never seen before.
It is a racing special AMG W208 in a standard shell. It has in fact been around for quite some time only now I got to see some photos of the mechanicals
- racing headers
- straight through exhuast
- custom air intake
- hydraulic suspension adjustment (damping adjust)
- seriously wide rims
- full AMG roll cage
- co-pilot plotting assist
- phone and GPS (of course)

Hydraulic suspension? Is that hydro-pneumatic like in my old Citroën SM or hydraulic like in a Cholomobile?

I would have guessed it was like the W210 system.

Left-hand drive to. I guess this car lives in the UK.
Or Australia now that I see your location
You can see the twin air scoops peeking out under the front bumper.
This is the best looking lowered W208 I've seen.

Right hand drive to be annoyingly accurate, left hand traffic. I am going to be working on this car in my spare time for the rest of the year. Originally Posted by H-MAN

The new owner wants to put in a supercharger.

Lucky you. Would love to see more pictures of this car. What supercharger is he going to put in?

At the moment we are toying with the idea of a SL55 unit and some new pistons.Originally Posted by H-MAN

Its the most amazing engine bay I have seen. As far as I know it is the full W208 pace car setup.

The really scary thing is that the car is street legal since it must have a compliance plate to race in Australia on a street circuit.
I think that USA MBWORLD members should come and watch the TARGA TASMANIA or even make a team and enter a car.

Dont you think its kind of cool that there is a road race where people just stand around at street level and watch as exotic cars scream past. No advertising, just street names.Originally Posted by Chappy

Unfortunately, we have too many lawyers here for that to happen
