Looks sharp Anybody have pics of the tail lights? Is the entire assembly smoked or just a part of them? Are they now LED?

Sorry, but lots of us think all 209's...
are girlie. Or is that girly? In any event, as my wife (girly) says, they all look like glorified Accords.

I prefer the style of the W208 over the W209 personally but I wouldn't call the 209's girlie. Just not quite as aggressive looking.

Didn't mean to offend anyone, just saying that I like the changes. Now that I'm comparing them side by side, they do/did kind of look like the Accord.

Never heard that before - LOL! So maybe, but the E55 still runs past the CLK55 w/out breaking a sweat... The E is certainly more masculine than the CLK, but the SLK (new and old) is the most feminine of the MB's. I'd say the CLK is more metrosexual than feminine.

that's only in a straight line performace. CLK is a MB's overall performance model. Either on track or Street, it does its job. Well, also let's see what CLK can do once my mods are done.

On the racing circuit sure, it's MB's choice... and while it does "it's job" for sure, you can't really compare it to the higher end AMG's in MB's stable. Sure, if you heavily modify it and run it against stock SL55's, E55's, etc. it will be right there, but that could be said for the C55 as well. Don't get me wrong, I love the CLK55, but it simply wasn't aggressive enough for my tastes visually. That said, the new quad exhausts in the rear are a step in the right direction - now AMG needs to add a super charger to get the HP to 450+ and we'll have a tight sled right off the lot.

It won't be a heavily moded CLK. Just little stuff with 19inch rims with street tires. Let me see how it runs on the 1/4mile track after mods. Maybe I could change your opinion slightly?

As I mentioned earlier, traction off the line is the greatest performance deficit of these cars. With the LSD, the fatter tires and it's lighter weight(compared to the E and SL), I think the performance, both street and strip, might surprise a few people. In fact I think it may be with the mods, the best overall performer of the bunch! Still the E55s and SL55s are beasts in their own right. We'll see, perhaps I'm just biased . Let us know how it goes?

I know the CLK55 is wicked quick, I like the look, it has a great interior, and it's a cute car yes, ... but at the end of the day the 130+ HP difference along with the more masculine lines between it and the E55 made my buying choice an easy one. I don't know how we can even compare the two cars. I'd be more interested in seeing a CLK55 face off w/ a M3 or the E55 w/ the M5.
