Warranty Center Extended Warranty Sale

You only have until 7pm est TODAY!
I have no affiliation with them, just when I was searching for a warranty for my 55 I got a quote from them, and must have ended up on their mailing list. They seem to have decent coverage and just thought I would pass it on.

But you had to purchase it by 7pm EST today.
Rock On!!!!
the warranty i got does NOT cover: maintainance, services, items used in services, wear items like manual clutches, brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, belts, glass or plastic lenses, body and paint items including soft trim, snow plows, winches, and trailor hitches.
pretty much an MB factory warranty that covered more things than starmark or any other 3rd party warranty at the time.

I do not have COMAND and opted for a "preferred warranty" coverage, best available from this particular company, and researched their labor rate pay scale and what items that are not included. It is not as extensive as what Lisa offered but less than half the price. So I figured for the difference of $2,000, I'll invest that money and pay for anything not included myself. Most everything is covered, but you never know. Also, mine is for 7 years and 100,000 miles, transferrable.
Call or search for "Courtesy Motors" in Chico, CA.

Thought you might want to know that Platinum has ceased operations. Yolu might want to look at joining the lawsuit. Damn shame.
From consumeraffairs.com:
SmartChoice is not the only warranty company to have solvency problems. Toni, of Allen, Texas got a nasty surprise from Platinum Warranty Corp.
“I paid $2,200 for an extended warranty for my car from Platinum Warranty Corp. I found out, when I put my car in the shop for $4,000 worth of work, the company is under investigation for fraud by the Attorney Generals office for the state of Ohio. I'm out the cost of the warranty plus car repairs and rental car charges.”
Stacey, of Hanover, Pennsylvania had a similar experience after purchasing a two year, 24,000 mile warranty from Platinum.
“Now that my car needs repairs, I call to get information on how to get the car fixed. None of telephone numbers are good, I get a recording saying this number is no longer in use!!! I cannot get in contact with them. And my car needs repairs. I have never even filed a claim with them. I purchased the warranty back in December 2004. What do I do? Where are they? Are they out of business?”
In fact, they are. Platinum Warranty Corp ceased operations September 30 after being sued by the state of Ohio last year and filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May. A Cleveland bankruptcy court converted the Chapter 11 filing to Chapter 7 on October 12.
Please, no one do business with this company!

Thank you LorinserCLK55DT for the info. I will go to consumeraffairs.com and see about joining the lawsuit, or if you have any additional info on joinging the suit, please post it.
I'll keep everyone posted as to what I find on this matter.
Thanks again, maybe I can get a "good" spot in line!

I sincerely hope no one else purchased a warranty from these idiots due to my post and I wish had checked out their history more thoroughly. I would have, hopefully, at least seen the complaint list. My only flag from them was my conversation about getting repairs paid for and they indicated they issue a CC number over the phone so my mechanic gets paid. When I pressed them for how much they allow for labor rates, they said $68/hour, and it is a minimum of $70/hour locally, but thought the $2/hour difference was worth the comfort of having the warranty. I only wished I had known the warranty was worth less than the toilet paper I purchased yesterday.
Thanks again for the heads up info on this worthless company, otherwise I too would be one of the unknowns. The car has been flwaless through the 5,000 miles I put on thusfar, but I know this warranty would have helped with resale value if I ever decide to get something else. Warranties are just a statistical roll of the dice and hopefully one will never need them.
Hope your CC company is able to work with you on this issue. Its instances like this that has always made me leery of getting an extended warranty. The warranty companies just want too much money for the services they offer. I would like too see a 5 year coverage plan for around $1800…that seems about what I would feel comfortable buying. Anything more seems too much.
Hope you get some resolution brian...you looking to get a new warranty in the future?
