For anyone who is interrested, here is a link to a very nice system from Pioneer which has Nav, Radio of course, CD, DVD, and XM, which is a must for me...

I have seen the system in person, and it looke great, but I need to find out if the steering controls for the channel, and volume will adaapt. If not this unit accepts voice commands for control, which is also a nice feature...

Anyway, I'd like to keep the "MB" gear intact, but I need some functionality...

I think if I can get it installed perfectly, it will be fine...

Check out this thread. I updated my NAV to the most state of the art Alpine DVD based system. It is completely integrated with OEM NAV screen and works great.

i've also heard that that the eclipse unit by fujitsu is a great alternative. it's got a hard drive and automatically rips any cd you put into it and stores it in memory.

How do you adapt the Unit to the double din opening in the MB? My Tweeter installer says that it would have to be a custom fab job....
