Need to lower CLK55 W209

I just got Brabus 19" wheels, and the car is sitting just a tad too high. Any springs suggestions? I do not want to spend a lot of money for a coilover setup, just springs that will lower the car a tad.
Any suggestions? Brabus srpings are $900+ and I just think it is a little too much $$$.
Any input is greatly appreciated!

I know people have had a lot of sucess with H&R spring on the W208. I'm not sure if that will work for you on the W209 but I'm sure sombody will be able to tell you.

wouldn't you have to change the shocks too if you change the springs? oh, you also might have to play around with pad sizes to get the perfect drop.

How much of a drop are you seeking? Any pics of your current setup?

I am looking for no more than an inch. With that I think the OEM shocks should hold up. Really want the rear end to come down a bit. With 19x9.5 and 275 tires it just looks to be sitting too high up.

I'll get the pics as soon as my car is washed.

Do a search on the username "Stiggs". He has a W209 CLK55 and purchased the euro-spec springs for his car...never installed them. Not sure if he sold them yet. Since you're not seeking an aggressive drop, you can use these springs and still keep the factory dampers.

Spring "pads" or "shims" come in several sizes and can also determine ride height, to a small extent.

Do a search...there are numerous threads on the topic.

I have seen that post. How much lower will eurospec AMG springs be than my current OEM AMG springs?

I can't say on a W209, but there are before and after pics on this thread:

Damn Chappy....good memory.
I actually did sell those euro spec springs about 6 months ago. I sold them to some dude that lurks here. he saw my post and he paypaled me the money. I sold them for $300 I think. he said he installed them and was going to post pics here when they finished settling. I will have to e-mail him and tell him to put up some pics.
He e-mailed me a few months after the sale and said they really worked well.
I just didn't want to spend the money to get them installed.
I am one cheap sunova*****!
