Multi-Spoke SL55's

For tires, these sizes (225/40/18 and 255/35/18) or (235/40/18 and 265/35/18) come to mind.
Thanks!
As for the offset, that could be more trouble, particularly on the front axle. I like the DTM look of the multispokes so I checked them out on the Tire Rack site. The 8.5x18 inch front wheels have an offset of 30mm. I am guessing that is too low -- in other words, the wheel is going to stick out too much.
As an experiment you might try jacking up the car and swapping the stock rear 8.5x17 wheels to the front. My stock AMG Style I rear wheels also have a 30mm offset. Has anyone tried this?
Just eyeballing it, it doesn't look promising even if you drop from the 245 rear width to 235 tires up front. Check out AintMe's snug set up, using 8 inch rims up front, as shown in a recent post on the tire forum: https://mbworld.org/forums/wheels-tires-suspension-brakes-forum/147002-19x9-19x10-w208.html
Chappy, Learso and others run AMG monoblock IIs which have 8 inch rims up front. That's the sensible solution if you like that style wheel. I see that a lot of people have put non-MB wheels 18x18.5 or 19x8.5 up front, but I would guess that their offset is always at least 35mm, yes?

A smaller car the CLK is I suppose.Does the 500E use the bigger lug bolts then?
I think I'm going to go for the 5-spoke AMG Style III

18" but same width and offset as stock wheels.
Unless I could get these to fit..

but it's unlikely I guess.
Thanks for the help guys

The front ones probably fit? Because today I saw a new W209 CLK500 with the rear wheels mounted on the front hubs (probably some stupid tire-place did the rotation)...I didn't see any rubbing marks on the fenders...
Where can I get these 'hybrid' bolts?
Thanks

That 209 you saw gives a helpful clue but the cars do not have the same chassis. You might put your 208 up on a rack and swap the stock rear wheels with the fronts just to check the clearance. Please let us know if you do this.
Unless I'm missing something here, spacers will only widen the track, so they will not help you if the SL front wheels already stick out too much.
I have heard about "shaving" the inside of a wheel to reduce its width, but don't know much about it.

I found the supplier for the bolts:

I'm only worried about the front wheels' offset.
I think the rears would fit perfectly with the correct lug bolts (14mm ball-seat with 12mm shaft).
The SL55's wheels are ET30, 8.5" wide. I'm gonna swap a rear wheel to the front and see how it is.
My feeling is that it's gonna stick out and look kinda silly on the 208. The stock 7.5" ET35(?) wheels already look flush w/ the fenders...
They look so sweet tho, check this out on another member's (ShazAMG) W209:
It seems like the 209 has wider front fender flares.
