19X9 19X10 for W208

I just bought a set of used wheel but found out later that they are 19X9 and 19X10. Will they fit my CLK430? If so, what tire size should I put on them? Should I return them to the seller?

Thanks in advance.

Can you be any less specific?

So, you just purchased a set of rims without knowing if they would fit? A 9" front may be too wide. What did they come off? Rims from a Mercedes S, SL, CL and current E-Class usually don't fit. Be prepare to return them.

Ya, I should be more specific on the questions.

I know 235 front and 265 rear are the maximum tire sizes for most W208. However, 19X9 and 19X10 are a bit too wide for these sizes. I know they can fit but the rims will have little to no protection from the tires and have higher chance of getting curb damages. It might also look bad too. I heard that 245/275 may work with rolled fenders and some experiment on different offsets.

I want to get some opinions on what tire sizes I should get with these wheels.

235/265
245/265
235/275
245/275

I will be using Toyo T1-R.

You will prob have to go with a 235/265 tire setup. The 10" rear will fit, but, you will need to have the fenders rolled. Even after rolling, the chances of you fitting a 275 tire are slim. If you plan on lowering the car, even the 265s are a tight fit. The big question is the 9" front wheel. My gut tells me it will not work, esp. w/ a 245/19 tire. Here is a pic 19x8, 19x10 (235/265). We tried running 245/275 Yoko AVS; it was a no go. Look at the front wheel an how it aligns with the fender.

depends on the weather
you would have to go with the 235/265 combo and even then some vehicle/alignment modifications will need to be made

We still don't know the offsets of these wheels? The offsets of these used rims may make this whole thing moot! Also, wheter or not the the used set uses 12 or 14mm ball or cone seats. Lost of info is needed.

True. The offsets are another major key to the puzzle. The lug bolts aren't a huge concern as there are some makers of hybrid bolts out there. It would be more difficult if he was trying to go from a 208 clk onto a 211 E-class (12mm vs. 14mm). That would prob require some mods to the wheel.

Perfect drop, aintMe. What is the setup of your suspension? I have the same wheels too.

The offsets are 35mm for the front and 45mm for the rear. The rear comes with a 18mm spacer. Scorchie mentioned that ET30 for the front works for his 245 tires. Other then his setup I couldn't find much offset information.

Thanks. It is an old pic of my brother's car. He's running H&R springs. I've read scorchie's past posts as well about running a 245/275 tire. I'm not going to say it is impossible when it obviously has been done. I think he just found a perfect offset/width and tire shape combo. The yoko was a squarish tire which is probably why there were rubbing issues. Keep in mind that AMGs have pre-rolled fenders.

Your offsets are inline with my brother's set-up 35/45 w/ rear spacers. However, he ran an 8" front wheel. You can see how close it is with that. I *think* your 9" front might be a no go.

aintMe, you are right. I tried 235 with 19X9 ET35 and that did not work. I am returning the wheels. Thanks for your help.

This is one of those times I wish I wasn't right Sorry to hear that they didn't work out for you. At least you can return them. Do you mind sharing with me how much you paid for them? You can PM me if you want. Also, are you dead set on a set of 19" Carlsson 2/5s? If you are open to another brand/style of wheel, I might have a set for you that is just sitting around. PM me if you are interested.
