The year before they competed with a yellow Enzo.
I believe Kalbas drove Paris-Dakar multiple times and Greg is a professional GT driver. So they certainly know their business

I posted some pics of that CLK under CLK55 amg pictures.
Some facts about the Gumball 2005 CLK DTM:
It has a rear view camera in the trunk lid, it has broadband internet access, through 3 Moto V3. It also had multiple DV cameras and a carputer.
They weren't able to repeat their 203mph top, and only got to 201 mph, which may be due to the drag of the added rear antenna. (which i doubt, since the top speed is electronically governed). However, still considerably slower than the 230 mph they reached with the enzo...

there been any problems? How would this car compare against a supercharged M3 CSL I wonder. I would be very tempted with a CLK DTM, but you only tend to see delivery or ulta low mile examples offered. I use my cars on the track quite a lot, so a higher mileage not so mint example would suffice. Maybe I will have to wait a while, I am presently running a CSL, which is great, but the DTM has got me interested!!!!!!!
It consumer over 57 liters per 100 at full power. They also had to replace rims because they hit a curb.Imo there's no comparison with the M3 CSL. The DTM pours out 590 lbs ft of torque (which is more than the SLR), 582rwhp as ClayJ said (which is only about 20 less than the SLR) and weighs about 1500 kg (which is a little more than the CSL but less than the SLR). Torque and bhp are however available surprinsingly early (3500 rpm for full torque and 6100 rpm for full horses, which is again faster than the SLR)
It does 0- 60 mph in 3.9, but it really is faster (the rumour is that merc hasn't given up the real numbers because it would be an offense to its double priced flagship, the SLR) ,thats would also be the reason why it is limited at 200 mph (it would nonetheless be faster than the SLR that isn't limited). Ofcourse this is speculative, but it is impressively fast!
Some are available in the EU with no miles on them, in the price range i quoted above. The market for the DTM convertible will be more accessible i think, though i don't know who would want to buy this turkey
